Awesome Dirk, does Win 7 not support 8700K?

I think you will find it`s the other way round hardware manufactures will stop optimising for windows 7 as it fades out, The same happened with other windows O/S`s a notebook I had would not upgrade due to the hardware inside and no drivers to support the new O/S, in other words get a new PC they make them Microsoft do not make ACER or ASUS,HP, ECT. Or GPU`S and CPU`S .

Win10 x64 is the way to go atm no doubt about that.

What sort of overclocks are people seeing on the 8700K? Without liquid cooling, de-liding or driving temps right up under load i'd mainly heard a modest increase to 4.8GHz was what most were doing?  Part of me half wonders if that's all on offer then is the vanilla 8700 probably worth a go (what numbers i've seen for all-core stock speeds show it tied with a stock 8700K)  and spending the money saved dropping the K elsewhere.
