April 12, 200620 yr I never have been able to determine what initiates the presence of ground power, or for that matter omits that service at an airport.I was reminded of this ignorance on my part in making up a new checklist for the LDS 767-300 in Flighdeck Companion. It does not seem to be unique to any particular aircraft, or airport. At some majors it show up, and at others it is absent even though real world they certainly would be able to supply it. Same goes for the variety of aircraft with this adaptation capability. It also doesn't seem to be consistent. Shows up sometimes and doesn't at the same location, same aircraft.I asked this question a few years ago and never did get an answer. Either nobody knew or I guess figured the question didn't deserve an answer.Anybody know the secret?Respectfully:RTH1585368CFI
April 12, 200620 yr Dunno the answer, but I love to see an addon that, when you land all sort of utility trucks come to your plane, and connect power, air, fuel and a tow truck. It must be doable..JohanA LITTLE LESS CONVERSATION, AND A LITTLE MORE ACTION PLEASE!HELP:http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=238882
April 12, 200620 yr Maybe doable but would probably kill frame rates. Some detailed airports already have a serious effect on frame rates for my machine.
April 12, 200620 yr I'm not sure that ground power is a function of FS9 at all. Those aircraft which have it (the advanced planes like the LDS, ATR, PMDG whatever Boeings) have it modeled into the panel, I believe. The documentation implys that it is more or less randomly available in varying degree.DJ
April 12, 200620 yr Afraid there is no such thing in MS Flight Simulator 9. Some of the more advanced add-ons will model this on their own, but it is not part of the simulator.Dont know if this is going to be part of FS 10 or not. The published information on the new version is still pretty sketchy. Pretty much just screenshots, which does not tell us much.
