Aerosoft Mega Airport Johannesburg put on hold

Well, the problem child known as Johannesburg, FAOR, by Aerosoft seems to have been put to rest. Mathijs explained how they failed to get the proper imagery for the site as airport officials were not very helpful and how they only have a few images from the internet to work with, not nearly enough to finish it to their standard. It is worth mentioning that it hasn’t been cancelled indefinitely, just put on hold until they can get their hands on proper imagery from the site. It’s a sad day for  the people hoping it would be finished, and it did look great from their screenshots, but here’s to hoping that one day it’ll be back and better than ever! If anyone has imagery and access to the airport, you care encouraged to contact Mathijs!

"on hold" would mean that it has been worked on before. But this one has been dead for quite a while. They are just admitting it a little late.

Airport officials at FAOR not being very helpful. Where have I heard that before? Oh, yeah, anyone who’s ever had to deal with airport officials at FAOR.

It technically was an active project, but was stopped, hence “put on hold”.

Zuma's corrupt cabal are endemic everywhere.  I'm pretty sure Aerosoft were asked to pay a bribe in order to get it done, and were therefore stonewalled when they refused.  Viva Africa.

It takes guts to demand Mathijs pay a bribe:biggrin:

In South Africa, bribes are almost a way of doing business with the government.  Rotten to the core.

Probably the same reason there hasn’t been a good rendition of Cape Town, I wouldn’t even want to fly to Johannesburg in the first place much less leave the airport grounds.

Technically Innsbruck and Salzburg are in development also. Do you think they will ever see the light of the day? FAOR has been dead for the better part of a year and everyone who read the thread could see that.
