Cannot start PMDG aircraft

Recommended Posts

I have recently had to reinstall Windows 10 and now cannot get my PMDG aircraft (777-200LR) to start.

I can load the default fighter aircraft in P3Dv4.1 without problems, but when I try to load the PMDG aircraft, P3D hangs with the Windows Task Manager showing the program using a large amount of memory but with the CPU usage at 0%.

I am sure that I have done something wrong to cause this situation but cannot imagine what that is. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Richard

Do you use any anti virus software beside win defender?

Is your P3D installation located outside of the Program files (x86) folder? Have you used an up-to-date 777 installation file?

That much for the most common advice I've read here since now.

It's early morning in the US, so the "pros" will come across this in a few hours I think :D

Hi Marc,

Windows Defender turned off. No other anti-virus software installed.

P3Dv4.1 installed in D:\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\ and 777 freshly downloaded from PMDG.

Many thanks for your thoughts,

Cheers, Richard

Hi Peter,

Not good news if the Win 10 update could cause this situation, I agree.

Cheers, Richard

If your win10 are fully upgraded this should not cause any issues.

I would suggest to open a ticket with us to check it further.
