Wanted - a more realistic Ai package than MyTrafficPro

Recommended Posts

No need to uninstall, you only have to disable the scenery part of MT (the bgl files = the flight plans) to avoid having them flying around too. The aircraft models you can keep. Or easier still, just keep everything like it is and set the traffic density slider to 0.

Best regards

Yes that occurred to me after posting. So this package is reliant on other Ai packages. Has anyone tried the combo of MTPro and PSXseeconTraffic?

And I guess it requires an internet connection for it to work,

Is that down to MT or the sim?

MT.

AI traffic schedules are compiled into two BGL files by the manager app of MT. The sim just processes what is in these files. The AI time tables are based on time of day and days of weeks, just like they always have been (exactly the same as if you create them yourself with AIFP etc.).

UT2/UTL could be better at turnaround times, but I haven't really paid attention to that. (they don't use BGLs)

Best regards

It relies on somemething else providing the aircraft models. Other AI packages are just the easiest way, because they already have many aircraft for many airlines ready made. You "only" have to match them to their real world counterparts.

Yes, "live live" traffic requires a constant Internet connection. The aircraft positions are updated every few seconds.

Thanks Oliver. The next time you fly into LPPT see how many free gates you have. I have never had one available at the terminals and always have to park on the apron which is also full of Ai. In reality I'm sure that is not the case.

So I shouldn't see any Monarch aircraft at Manchester - or anywhere else presumably.

If you just want to check it out - there is the Lorby Live Traffic app too. It is free free, you don't need a subscription for a datasource (but you can use the paid RealTraffic service too if you want). It is just an experiment of mine and a lot less powerful than PSXSeecon - most importantly - it doesn't have any ground level traffic or parked aircraft. It has four databases ready made matching MT6, WOAI, UT2 and UTL models to their real world cousins.

Best regards

Thanks Oliver. I will take a look at it. You’ve produced some great software which I very much appreciate.

Hello Ray,

Many thanks for your kind words.

Please allow me just one hint: if you do check it out, first time you run it, just select the MT6 model database - don't use the "Scan folder" function. That button is only relevant if you are using a different collection of aircraft that LLTX doesn't know.

Many people got this wrong, thinking that they must scan the aircraft folders - you don't. I did that for you and matched the aircraft in those four products manually.

Best regards

FYI...Justflight currently have a Traffic program in development that should be released shortly, might be worth a look when it's released.

Traffic Global

As I stated in the 4th contribution of this thread. And someone was so kind to repeat in the mean time.

Kind regards, Michael

Oliver,

I've just watched your video on your website and note that aircraft don't taxi to the gate or from the gate. They don't populate the gates either.

I appreciate you're restricted to real world data so can't control all aspects. Is that situation likely to change or can that payware alternative do these things?

PSXseeconTraffic let aircraft park at the gate if the real world pilots don’t shut off the Transponder before taxing on the apron.

Michael,

I noted this in the publicity...

"Accurate flight plans generated using real-world airline schedule data, giving full worldwide coverage."

They will be accurate on the day the data is captured but can soon become inaccurate. It would be interesting to know how often the schedules are updated. Two or three times a year would be welcome even if it was subscription based.

The idea of tapping into FlightRadar data is interesting but the downside seems to be lack of accuracy when landing and no taxiing in or out.

I run Radar Contact and it can 'see' Ai aircraft when controlled by MyTrafficPro. Will it be able to 'see' Ai when spawned by these alternative programs?

What about when taxiing out? Would they be visible at the gate before pushback? Or only when the transponder is switched on maybe half-way to the active runway?

The PSXseeconTraffic manual :

“note that when a live aircraft starts its flight with a position close to a gate, PSXseeconTraffic will position this aircraft spot on and with the right heading at the gate. When a live aircraft leaves the traffic stream while it is at a gate, PSXseeconTraffic will change the live aircraft into a static aircraft, its callsign is lengthened with an underscore character”

Thanks Gerard. Do you have this yourself? How does it compare to MyTraffic or whatever package you had / have?
