January 17, 20188 yr Author Hi Doug Thanks-I am coming to the same conclusion especially as discovering that I have almost the same spec as one of my “hero’s” Rob Abernathy There is a thread over on the Orbyx Forums just now discussing this very topic I am now doubly reassured! Greatly value your advice -thanks xxd09

That processor needs a different socket and chipset. Having said that, I agree with Doug. Your system should run nicely as it is. I'd consider a better graphics card if you want to run at 4K but I'd definitely try it first with the existing one. i7-14700k | Asus ROG STRIX Z790-F Gaming WIFI | 32GB DDR5 RAM | MSI RTX 4080 Super | WD Black SN850X 1TB & 2TB | Corsair HX1000i ATX3.0 | MSI MAG401QR 40" monitor | Win 11 Pro 64-bit | Meta Quest 3
