GTN Screen Aspect Ratio

Hello,

I’m considering buying a GTN 750 License to use with X-Plane 11 (Windows 10), and would love to have an external LCD (touchscreen) to go along with it (and to mount on my home-made-in-progress panel).

I watched a couple of online videos, and I noticed that the aspect ratio of the screens (especially on this one from @basementflyguy) looks odd. He even mentions it. Which screen do you recommend so it looks ok? I don’t mind if it’s 7, 9, or 10 inches, as long as it doesn’t look distorted.

Thanks in advance,

Hi, I can't suggest a particular screen, but the native GTN 750 screen resolution is 600x708 pixels.

Thanks. Interesting, that’s a almost a 6:7 aspect ratio, right?

Would a (say 7 or 9 inch) screen work better vertically then?

Appreciate the info tho. Will keep investigating.

For science, how about the GTN650 then?

Jeau Luc! You need to pin this response.  I have spent time perusing Garmin pages and even measuring on-screen gauges when configuring self-edited VC and popup size and position.  All to mixed results.

This is valuable information.

Ops Frank! For the record I searched for "garmin gtn 750 lcd screen” at DuckDuckGo (https://duckduckgo.com/?q=garmin+gtn+750+lcd+screen&ia=web) and I found on the first page, this result:

http://www.chiefaircraft.com/gmn-gtn750.html

If you scroll down there’s a lot more info about the GTN 750 (but not the 650).

Unfortunately, so far, I have been unable to find an LCD screen that matches that resolution / aspect ratio; Jean-Luc’s info has been very useful so far, but I’ll keep searching for the “perfect -and affordable- LCD” for this. :)
