May 10, 200620 yr Hi all-I've seen several sites that host sectional charts; I'm wondering if there is an online resource which is somewhat equivalent to the flight planner in FS, i.e. with intersections and fixes.I searched the forums but generally only found the VFR and Terminal charts.Any recommendations?thxAndrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
May 11, 200620 yr I agree, GoldenEagle is free and great for flight planning, used it quite a bit to plan routes for real flights, click the free download link just above the eagles head at the link below.http://www.flightprep.com/rootpage.php?page=infogoldeneagle
May 11, 200620 yr Are you looking for sectionals or enroute charts? I just bought the whole sets of high & low enroute charts for the U.S. on ebay. Price was $6.50 and shipping was about $10.00.Jason JasonFAA CPL SEL MEL IR CFI-I MEI AGI
May 11, 200620 yr If you are a member of AOPA, then they have a free Real-Time Flight Planner, basically the Jeppesen Low Altitude Enroute charts online. You put in your origin and the destination, specify whether you want airways or GPS direct, and it concocts a flight plan and a nav log for you.Free if you are a member.
May 11, 200620 yr "concocts"LOL... somehow that's pretty funny.I'll be joining again once I pick up my lessons. Heck, maybe before.Thanks-Andrew H e l p k e e p A V S I M f l y i n g
May 12, 200620 yr Author Very neat, never knew this existed.I can use this along with my Garmin Trainer w/my RXP gns units and plan a file without booting into FS (and using FSNav).Very nice, ThanksP.S. Is there a way to print out the flight plan in 'non-map mode' though? Just 'playing' with it a bit, I didn't see a way to print anything other than the map w/ route over-layed.
