Default King Air sound problem

Featured Replies

My King Air has no engine sounds when looking forward, forward/left or forward/right. Other views and external are ok.

I've searched the file library for a replacement sound file but not found anything. I have set my FSX-SE sound setup to my speakers. Any suggestions either for a fix or source of sound file please?

Iain Smith

1) Only the Kingair or other planes as well?

2) Check your speaker configuration or sound setup in FSX Windows.

3) If this is only happening in the 2D panel, it might be a FSX limitation.

Hi, lain. I think it is a quirk just for that plane in FSX. Sometimes the engine sounds are there, but faint. All of a sudden they come back at normal volume. And it is when I'm changing views. Delayed sound for a few seconds, then it comes back. ?

hasn't really bothered me too bad, but I wondered if it was just me, so thanks for the post!

Weird, but I get surround sound front and back. while in VC mode. I don't think any other Aircraft does that??

Thanks for all your replies. To answer your questions:-

1) This is only on the King Air.

2) Sound setup is unchanged and this problem has only recently started.

3) It's happening in VC mode.

There is definitely nothing at all in the views I mentioned and they don't start after a delay.

I'm thinking of changing the sound set but where to get a replacement?

Iain Smith

If this has only started recently, check your Windows sound settings or for any add-ons you've installed that could interfere with the sound.

Alternative soundsets should be available in any well sorted flightsim libary.

Yes Bjoern, that's what I thought but I couldn't find any for the default King Air in the Avsim library.

Have checked Windows sound settings and all is unchanged. Thanks for your response and suggestions.

The library has a soundset: lm_kasndenhpck_v31.zip

Thanks Bjoern but I searched the Avsim library for that file but could not find it.

The only sound file for the King Air is an update for the payware Caranedo version.
