Featured Replies

After I log in to download the service updates for the 737 and 777 does not take me to any link to do so. It takes me to my account menu with out any visible down load link.

Stelio,

There are no service packs any more. There are two ways to update the products depending the version you are.

1) Through the OC, if you open the Operations center you should get a notification of an update. Clicking it it should open a dos windows and the update should start. If you have an old version this dos window will open and close in this case

2) Log in to the PMDG store with your account. Select View previous orders and then select the order you like. At the bottom is the URL to download the latest installer. Uninstall the ones you have and install with the new installer

PLEASE NOTE PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM

Thanks Chris for your answer.

I did the update via the PMDG Operation centre.

I have this problen now when I start the engines of the 737 the N2 does not go more that 60.6

I have starded the negines with the same procedure as I always do (like the instructions manual) but now they never go more the 60.6

What is the problem. Is it faulty service pack

Do you mean that after engine start and with full throttle N1 does not exceed 60.6%?  What happens when you use the default configuration with engines running?  Maybe your old panel state file needs updated.

There is not a bug in the service pack of this nature.

No on idle state just after you start the engine. The ignition switch stays on GRD and it doesn't go to OFF and N! stays at 60.6.

I'm lost, you've used interchangeably N2, N1 and N!, and the starter switch should be clicking off around 50-60% N2 as the fuel flows and EGT increase.  I define the engine started as when it has stabilized including EGT which peaks then decreases then reaches equilibrium. I'm sorry, but I'm not looking over your shoulder and you have not yet provided enough information to give me a picture in my mind of what you see.

The most common start problem is having both packs on.

With packs on the turbine hardly reaches 20%...

N! Looks like N1 with the shift key held.

nevertheless, Stelios, you really should explain a little in detail what you have done updating your addon. That sounds a little weird.

,

I just flew a B736 trip and looked at the N1/N2 gauges after normal startup.  The N2 indicate about 58-59%, which is normal.  I don't have a clue what the problem is yet, waiting for a little more effort with a problem description.

The problem was that once the N2 reaches 58-60 the, the ignition switch stays on GRD and it doesn't go to OFF  as it should do.

In anycase I have unistalled the 737 and reinstalled it again and now it works OK.

I am though scared to installed the update that it shows in the PMDG Operations center in case I have the same problem again. Is this update important?

You effectively ruled out finding the source of the problem, most likely a corrupt panel state.  While the switch is in ground start position, does the start valve annunciator remain lit or does it extinguish as expected around 50%N2?

You should install the micro updates offered by the OC.  Not keeping up to date effectively nullifies the ability to get help with problems.

Well I did install after all the service updates and all is working OK now. Thank you all for your input.
