February 10, 20188 yr Hi, I download Lorby last night. Read the manual but am lost. I want to move every scenery out of P3D main folders so come next week 4.2 (hopefully) I can upgrade free of problems. After reading the manual I did not see a way of selecting a scenery, a way to move it, and to make a xml file. Of the new location. When you install addons they sometime install effects etc into P3D folders. how does that work with Lorby? If someone could give me a step by step guild that would be fantastic and much appreciated. On my SSD were v4 is I have another folder called P3D Addons outside of P3d completely. I would like to move all addon scenery there and have an xml file to link. David Murden. February 10, 20188 yr Hi David , not done any Scenery yet but I've managed to install some Add-on Airplanes, so you could have a go at that. Installing Airplanes into the Addon-ons folder method. This method can be used if the developers install application permits you to browse to a location. In the Prepar3D Addon-ons [Folder] create the folowing folders for your add-on Airplanes :- for example '''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' [Carenado] [Flysimware] [Xtreme Phototypes] [Orbx Objectflow 2] ...you may already have this folder if you have Orbx stuff [Add-on.xml .. this file needs to be created...see note below* ''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''' now create the folowing folders inside each of the above developers folders for examamle in the [Xtreme Phototypes] folder .................................. [effects] [Fonts] [Gauges] [Scrips] [Simobjects] ... create another folder in the [Simobjects] folder .. [Airplane] [Sound] [xtreme Phototypes] .. .................................... note .. some of thses folders may not be used during the installation. * the Add-on.xml file should look something like this :- <SimBase.Document Type="AddOnXml" version="4,0" id="add-on"> <AddOn.Name>Xtreme Phototypes</AddOn.Name> <AddOn.Description>Aircraft by Xtreme Phototypes</AddOn.Description> <AddOn.Component>
Effects </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component>
Fonts </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component>
Gauges </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component>
Scripts </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component>
SimObjects\Airplanes </AddOn.Component> <AddOn.Component>
Sound </AddOn.Component> </SimBase.Document> After setting up of xml file and installing Airplanes, start up Prepar3D and you should get a pop up to ask you to enable the add-on. for some Airplanes you may have to alter the path in the panel.cfg file for some modified swith sounds, for example in the Xtreme Phototyoes lear25 :- [Vcockpit05] Background_color=0,0,0 size_mm=256,256 visible=0 pixel_size=256,256 texture=$GLJ25_03_G_D gauge00=XPGL25v2_Sound!FBGS_XMLSound, 18,5,1,1,D:\Users\Watkin\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Xtreme Phototypes\SimObjects\Airplanes\\XP_Gates_Learjet_25_v2r1\\sound\\extra#48 // gauge00=XPGL25v2_Sound!FBGS_XMLSound, 18,5,1,1,SimObjects\\Airplanes\\XP_Gates_Learjet_25_v2r1\\sound\\extra#48 gauge01=XPGLJ25v2!misc_systems, 20,5,1,1
February 10, 20188 yr Commercial Member 4 hours ago, Nyxx said: After reading the manual I did not see ..., a way to move it, Hello David, that is because there isn't one. The P4AO does not "move" scenery or other content anywhere. If something has already been installed into the simulator directories, there is no way of moving it out of there again - only the (un-) installer program that came with the addon can do that (if it can). The sole purpose of the P4AO is to create / edit / manage the add-on.xml files for any content that you have installed outside of the simulator yourself - so you don't have to trouble yourself with writing proper XML files. Best regards LORBY-SI
