February 13, 20188 yr I'm using FSX-SE. My default airport bldgs are no longer showing. I reinstalled FSX-SE, but have the same problem. I'm puzzled. Help.

The airport buildings are controlled by the Scenery Complexity slider. Turn it right for more buildings and left for less buildings. Have you checked that setting? Aside from that, I don’t use the SE version so maybe there is something else that needs to be done since you already reinstalled it. Perhaps someone else who uses the SE version might have an idea. February 14, 20188 yr Is it one specific default airport or all of them? The only time I can recall disappearing buildings is in a scenery add-on for Tenerife South. Add-on, not default. Try setting the autogen slider to at least very sparse or sparse maybe? The Scenery Complexity slider controls airport buildings, jetways, etc. You can confirm this by opening a default airport AFCAD and clicking on a hangar, tower, terminal, or other airport building and it will tell you which Scenery Complexity level it is set to for it to appear in the sim. We haven’t heard from the OP since Monday, so I wonder if he got it sorted out. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
February 15, 20188 yr True, but I googled somewhere that having autogen off means no buildings at all, not just autogen. Unless I read wrong. Good tip re: AFCAD. Presume one would need Airport Design Editor? Or are there other tools to display AFCADS? Ah, here it is, not that this is gospel by any means https://steamcommunity.com/app/314160/discussions/0/627456486208605406/ However, ScruffyDuck (Mr. ADE) appears to agree with yellowjacket's post. Perhaps it’s different in boxed FSX and the SE version. In boxed I’ve shut autogen off completely and still had all airport buildings intact. Maybe in the SE version they changed it, don’t know though since it don’t have it, but none the less, I don’t know how they could link autogen settings to something that is controlled by Scenery Complexity. Hope the OP rejoins the conversation so we can see if he fixed it. Avsim Board of Directors | Avsim Forums Moderator
February 15, 20188 yr I do believe you are correct Mr. Moderator. My FSX:SE behaves as your boxed version. As a little experiment I loaded up the Cessna at Dusseldorf (EDDL) . A bit random, but this is a stock airport in my FSX:SE. I had set my complexity slider to very sparse. The buildings didn't show up. Only jetways and parked planes were there (and a control tower). The airport buildings only displayed when the complexity was set to normal. At all times the autogen was set to sparse - it doesn't have a very sparse setting When I shut off the autogen, the airport buildings remained (scenery complexity normal). I too await the OP's findings.
