Visual model: wrong Virtual Cockpit height, winglex...

Featured Replies

Hey everyone,

First all, congrats to Leonardo SH team for this awesome addon, it's for sure THE must have of early 2018 !
But - because there's always a but - I found out after my first flight that some parts of the model could be improved:
-First, the most obvious one..wingflex ! On the addon, the wings seem flat or a bit toward ground during the complete flight. IRL, wingflex is really more pronounced as seen below (sorry flatearthers, you see the curve  )

MD-80 Takeoff

Then, there's the flaps animations, not much to say aside from the fact it's not smooth at all compared to the other surfaces

And last but not least; the virtual cockpit height, it was something that I already saw during previews, but that I confirmed by doing some quick maths...
...test***

So I made a simple comparison between the position of the exterior windscreen and the interior one, and the result is that the virtual cockpit is easily ~1m above where it should be

Second the flap animation. I thought maybe thats how the real aircraft did it, but looking at youtube that is definitely not the case

The aircraft is a beauty and flies nicely, so huge thanks to the team for making the MaddogX happen.

I do have to agree on the wing-flex and flaps.

I also thought the sounds were quite disappointing, it sounds very flat, I almost thought I was back on FS2004.

Apart from that, you did a great job. Flying it is great!

I can agree the engine sounds really dont sound like JT8Ds. Other sounds are fine

Amazing work with the plane.

Have to agree with others, though - flap animation is a struggle if I try to enjoy the wing view. Also the fact that there is only one position I can enjoy that view could be fixed. Everyone likes that last row seat with engine and the wing in sight. ;-)

Sounds could be much better. That rawr is missing...

One thing I've noticed is that getting this thing taxiing requires a lot of power, roughly 1.4 EPR. Is this real behaviour?

Thanks guys for an amazing plane. Really enjoy it apart from the previously mentioned ones!

On my case at a TOW of 55255 the plane moves by itself without using power. Is a joy

I also add that the doors for nose landing gear should be not closed completely when gear is down. If you look at pictures of real one on ground or landing, the doors are a little bit open.

Can't agree more. Please add wingflex otherwise this beautiful creature will look like a stone in the air.
