Madog experiencing crash to desktop

Okay thanks for the link to the app crash. Just so you know I have implemented the new update 2.0 clean install. The plane is much more flyable now which in good., however every time I try to reduce or expand my screen it still crashes my Sim. only in the MD-80. Hope can get to the bottom of this. No replay, I sent the info you requested 3 days ago ?? Also This power loss that others are experiencing is happening as well clearing all data in the FMC. I have to go to the pull down and select "ready for take off"  while taxing to the runway Geees.

Whenever I switch screens then go back to the maddog after looking at a chart page I get a CTD whenever using the pop up fms or clicking any button the fms. It has happened 3 or 4 times now.

My apologies my friend, and no excuse, I just lost track of your post.

The power loss is due to loosing the engines, and that is a separate issue you're having. It could happen for a number of operational reasons or if there is a bug in the software.  I never experienced this during the Beta, but did experience it with the release version (several things were changed a the last minute).  What I can tell you is that in testing the update (coming out soon), the problem seems to have been resolved.

Regarding your screen switching issue, this type of issue is often related to P3D itself, slightly unstable overclock, graphics card (hardware), graphics driver related, or temperature issues.  As a time savings measure, and IF YOU HAVE AN NVIDIA PCI-E GRAPHICS CARD on your system (example: most laptops do not), you can try uninstalling your graphics driver (see HERE for NVIDIA uninstall), then wiping the graphics drivers using THIS, and then reinstalling the latest drivers.

Can you please provide the following?:

1. Sim being used (FSX: MS, FSX:MS Deluxe, FSX:MS Acceleration, FSX:SE, P3DV3.5, P3DV4.0, P3DV4.1, P3DV4.2)

2. System Specifications

a. Processor Type

b. Processor Speed

c. Motherboard Memory Installed

d. Graphics Card Type

e. Graphics Card Memory (VRAM)

f. Graphics Card Driver Version

4. Have you overclocked your Processor?

5. Have you overclocked your Graphics Card?

6. Are you using any Flight Sim Software tweaks?  If so, which ones?

7. Are you using any graphics card tweaks (NVIDIA Inspector, etc.)? If so, which ones?

8. Please provide your simulator Display and Graphics Settings (or provide a screen shot of these pages)

9. When running the Maddog at a default airport, what are the frame rates under the following conditions:

a. At a default airport, aircraft at a gate/stand, view set for the Virtual Cockpit.

b. At a default airport, aircraft at a gate/stand, view set to Locked View (external).

10. When you are sitting at a default airport with the engines running, what is your Processor Core Temperatures?  You can use the freeware Hardware Monitor (available HERE) if you need a program to get the temps for you.

11. Do you have any problems running any other hird party complex aircraft on your system?

The above may look like it requires a lot of time, but it shouldn't take you any longer than a few minutes.

I would like to think is was my graphics card ,however it seem others are have this issue and it only happens in the Maddog. If this was a reoccurring problem with other aircraft I would speculate it being a graphics driver glitch. No other aircraft does this. I do have the latest drivers and Sim platform loaded. I can get you the info, sure seems excessive.A complete disclosure of my entire system is that necessary.It seem you are looking every where but at your product. I am a little frustrated at this point sir. Would you like me to become a Beta tester? I would be happy to. I truly believe it is the plethora of 3rd party variables out there that do not exchange all their info and coding ect. When there is not a thorough investigation and developers guess that's when problems arise. I was told yesterday that they have found vpilot model matching for carenado aircraft only has caused them grief and encountering issues with that,  why  who knows Thanks for responding anyway. I was hoping for a solution

Yes sir, I certainly do understand, and I agree with you. I'm happy I didn't ask for a list of all your addons!  LOL!

Getting this information though really helps when dealing with so many people and different levels of knowledge.  Having done this for a great many years, I've lost track of the number of times someone has said "I'm an expert user" (or words to that effect), or "I've already checked (this or that)", so I'd go off chasing ghosts (and delaying the resolution for the customer) where if I'd asked for the information from the start and cleared certain areas I would know better where to focus in on. Additionally, I've had a few cases where the person truly was an expert with flight sim software, but not with PC hardware, and the addon in question was taxing their system more then they knew and their system was getting unstable due to heat... and they had a CTD.  There are just so many things to look at and so many variables, but if we can eliminate them from a tech support perspective we can focus in where the problem is. This is especially helpful since we're not in front of the system.

With well over 80 flights in the Maddog, I've not seen this CTD, nor to my knowledge have the other guys on the team (I'm fairly sure I haven't missed any such reports) and most of the guys like me run all the other high-end payware addons and aircraft. This makes such reports as frustrating for us as it does for the customers!  One thing we haven't tried doing is getting the dump reports

Anyway, from your perspective I completely understand that it looks like overkill, I really do.

Forgive me if you've already told us, but is this problem occurring on each flight?

Hi, SInce I updated the Maddog I always get CTDs usually without a message and sometimes with the message. Sometimes on selecting the vehicle and sometimes several minutes into the start up procedure. It is a small freeze for a couple of seconds then back to desktop and p3d closes.

During the update I uninstalled the previous version completely then installed the new one (loosing a ton of liveries too!)
