February 24, 20188 yr Commercial Member You mean in AppData\Roaming\...\Controls? AFAIK one contains presets for all kinds of controller hardware and the other the actual assignments. When you plug in one of the known controllers, the preset is copied from one file to the other. That way the initial axis and button assignments make some kind of sense right from the start. February 24, 20188 yr Author Yes and I think it stores other button defaults also. I think this happens when you unplug your controller during a flight, standard.xml gets overwritten so it takes another 1hr to reset all the buttons. February 24, 20188 yr I did tick my standard.xml file properties read-only attribute box so it does not get overwritten.
