  1. I tried v6 and went back to v5.4 because v6 HDR cannot be disabled. The v6 world looks gloomy / brownish as if I am looking through sunglasses, v5.4 with HDR disabled looks much better for me.
  2. No problems here (P3Dv5.4)
  3. Installed the 5.4 client and encountered one issue sofar: The sim did not start, the cause was I still did have the Traffictoolbox module enabled in my DLL.exe file. Once I removed the entry from DLL.exe, the problem was solved. EDIT: Traffictoolbox is no longer located in the SDK since it is now included in the core application, it can be accessed through the Tools->Development menu inside of Prepar3D.
  4. The stock P3D ATC files (USEnglishBig.gvp / USEnglishASOS.gvp) are still the same as they were in FSX so it should not make a difference.
  5. IIRC you need to assign a key in the MVAMS app - keyboard assignments, e.g. Shift G.
  6. You can find it at the FSDeveloper forum - Airport Design Editor for MSFS 2020 thread: MSFS - ADE 2020 Alpha 21 HotFix 4 | FSDeveloper
  7. Not for Milviz. In the video they explained their core business/highest priority is defense contract work. Also in the video, they announced the brand name Milviz will be split into a professional/defense contracts branch and a separate brand for entertainment (MSFS) products, further announcements will follow soon. Edit: In the video they said they are selling no more than 3 or 4 P3D products per week these days...
  8. A quick and simple Google for "sim skunk works" will give you the answer: www.simskunkworks.it
  9. The default folder for special effects content is \Effects and it should have only one sub folder for effects textures: \Effects\texture. P3D also allows to have more effects folders which are declared in add-on.xml files or in the %PROGRAMDATA%\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\effects.cfg file.
  10. This week, Microsoft decided to update my PC from Windows 10 1909 to 20H2 and guess what, I got the old Geforce DCH 457.51 driver (from Dec 2020)... Everything works fine so I leave things as they are for now.
  11. I tried these lines in P3Dv5.1, it does not work for me.
  12. I disabled EA, HDR Lighting, and Dynamic Reflections and I was surprised how much better the colors look. Never went back to the default settings. Henk.
  13. The Goose: The Novawing24 guy talks about this in the 20 Dec Novawrap youtube video and today several Sim Outhouse members found out the hard way the extended edition does not work on other P3D licences.
  14. Not purchased yet but tempted to go for the standard edition. The extended edition is not an option for me as it requires a P3Dv4.5 / v5.1 Professional Plus license (!)
  15. Nothing to be worried about, to disable it go to Options > Application > Enable Content Error Reporting.
  16. If you have a NVidia GPU and use a custom Prepar3d NVidia Profile Inspector profile then delete it - it solved the black preview window issue for me.
  17. You can add a [GYRO_SOUND] section to your sound.cfg file like this example: [GYRO_SOUND] filename=TSS-Cockpitenv flags=0 viewpoint=1 minimum_volume=8650 maximum_volume=9582 There is no stock avionics WAV file so you need to find a suitable one yourself.
  18. I changed my modded Standard.xml file properties - attributes to "Read-Only", works perfect.
  19. According to his FB page, Farnborough is still on the radar, quote: "I will be releasing a number of airplanes and sceneries this year, and here is the first time that I’ve publicly outlined the road map for what I very much hope will become a popular line of products for flight simulation; February 2020: Boeing F/A-18E, F & G Super Hornets for FSX, P3D, and X-Plane 11. May 2020: Boeing F-15C, E and I “Ra’am” Eagles package for FSX, P3D and X-Plane 11. July 2020: Concorde for FSX, P3D and X-Plane 11. To be confirmed - September: Grumman F-14A and D Tomcats for P3D, and X-Plane 11. Date to be determined: Farnborough Airport for FSX, P3D, X-Plane 11 Date to be determined: Blackbushe Airport for FSX, P3D, X-Plane 11"
  20. I wanted to move the Global Base files to an external library but guess what the manual says: "Unfortunately, due to technical limitations, Orbx Global Base Pack can’t be migrated into alibrary." I guess this means that after installing a P3D content version update, your Global Base files will be overwritten just like in the old days.
  21. I agree content error checking is a valuable tool but I only enable it for testing purposes. For normal flights I turn it off because in my experience it has a significant performance impact.
  22. I use the latest version (v2.83) in P3Dv4.5 hf1 and have no issues with it - HUD and MFD's are working. Note: I do not use Tackpack. The download is at Dino's website http://indiafoxtecho.blogspot.com/ Henk.
  23. No word from Matt Davies yet on the support forum but for me Simtweaks P3D Tweak Assistant (PTA) v2.66 appears to be working with 4.5 hotfix.
  24. Under Options - General, disable "Enable Content Error Reporting". Not sure why you have this enabled, it is intended to help debugging content. The scan is very intolerant, lots of the reported issues do not really hurt (e.g. the Payload station indexes error). On my PC, having this option enabled hurts performance so I only use it when I want to test add-ons.
