Takeoff and Approach Briefings?

Featured Replies

I can't find the location of where you input the information for the briefings.  Are these implemented?

If not, for approach, how do we get the correct callouts for decision height / minimums?  Are these included in the Maddog dialogues or an auto aircraft callout?

Thanks.

Hi Mark,

Briefings are only of use in Button Control.

Voice control has no need for the Briefing Panel since it's voice control.

The value for Decision Height is based directly off the DH bug on the Captain's Altimeter.

We worked closely with the Maddog developer, and he was very helpful in allowing FS2Crew to integrate into the Maddog to very high level, thus allowing us to allow you skip making manual entries (like the DA bug).

You'll note the same style of thing for the FS2Crew volume.  It's no longer a setting on the FS2Crew panel, but rather directly connected to the aircraft itself (the INT twist knob on the Capt's audio panel).

From the manual:

The DA/MDA value is based on the DA/MDA bug on the Captain’s altimeter, corrected for the arrival airport’s landing elevation rounded down to the nearest 1000 feet.  Example:  Bug = 500 feet.  Landing Elevation is 2300 feet.   DA/MDA = 2500 feet.

In cases where the arrival airport’s elevation is over 1000 feet, for FS2Crew to auto adjust the DA/MDA using the arrival airport’s landing elevation, you must have an active route in the FMC.   If no active route has been entered in the FMC, FS2Crew cannot read the elevation of the landing airport, and FS2Crew will then default the landing elevation to zero feet.  Use the left/right mouse button/wheel to increase/decrease the DA/MDA in increments of 1000 feet.

You can do this on the FS2Crew Config Panel.
