February 26, 20188 yr I live stream when I work with simulation titles, and as such I want to try to be accurate and concise when it comes to reenacting flights on the air. As a real world pilot, I am aware that a typical Takeoff Briefing always consists of basics such as duties, weather, emergency procedures, types of takeoff, speeds, clearances, etc. However, I am wondering if anyone has come across a transcript that depicts the Maddog specific briefings that US Airline Captains go through. We in General Aviation have it easy. In the airlines, Captains also have to announce very specific things having to do with flight deck configuration and such, and it differes for every single aircraft type, so i want to try to get it right for the Maddog. Any leads to such wording would be greatly appreciated. I tried the one and only obvious choice ... YouTube ... but searching "Takeoff Briefing" for this aircraft there yields nothing more than fan-filmed clips of the takeoff itself and not the preparation. Thanks. :) Edited February 26, 20188 yr by Faelandaea Dravin Fae
February 26, 20188 yr Commercial Member If you look at the briefings from the other FS2Crew's you can follow the same format. Speeds might be different as well as some of the autopilot panel stuff, but the rest would be more or less the same. B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
February 26, 20188 yr Author Okay, thanks. I just didn't know if this bird, which is one I am VERY VERY unfamiliar with, had anything special that needed to be discussed. So it looks like I'll just go with the basics: Runway Flaps Speeds Rejected takeoff procedure Thrust Setting Engine Out Procedures NOTAMS SID Details Terrain/WX Issues And for approach: ATIS/Weather NOTAMS Weather/Terrain Speeds Constraints (STAR Details) Expected Holds Approach Plate & Frequencies/Course Flap Settings MDA/DA height Runway Specs Rollout and Expected Exit to Taxi Missed Approach Actions Diversion Airport Plan If anyone thinks of anything specific I need to add for this baby, please let me know. Thanks again for the reply, Mr. York :) Edited February 26, 20188 yr by Faelandaea Dravin Fae
February 26, 20188 yr Commercial Member Only thing I might add is the expected taxi route. Don't make it too long... you don't want to put your poor FO to sleep! If you talk too much, he'll just tune out! B. York FS2Crew Web Site / FS2Crew Facebook Page / FS2Crew Discord
February 26, 20188 yr Author Yeah I usually include that in the runway" line. "We'll expect runway xx via routing as assigned by ATC" is as far as I go with that one :) Fae
