VOZ 1.2 install

Featured Replies

I amnot entirely sure about its installation. In the readme file it says :1. VOZ 1.2 is a *PATCH* release and you MUST install VOZ 1.1 first if you are a first time VOZ user.2. If you are a current VOZ 1.1 user have it installed, you MUST UNVOZ FIRST before installation VOZ 1.2To me that means number 1 says to install the 1.1 patch but number 2 says to uninstal it (if that is what they are refering to whent hey say "UNVOZ"

There is a possiblity that the software uses either a module or interface app that should be disabled or some such, or that you need to remove the entry from the scenery library under settings in the sim.Hopefully other authors of addons will read this post and recognize that making words up is not all that helpful to us plebes and that clear and correct "non-lazy" documentation is an absolute necessity. The avarage reading level in NA (and probably most english speaking counties) is grade 9... docs need to reflect that limitation.CheersShad

I just wanted to make sure of the steps before I mess it up. I have 1.1 installed. So I go into the VOZ config, click unvoz, then install 1.2 and thats it?

Yup sounds about right.

You have to have Voz 1.1 installed before installing 1.2 because 1.2 is just additional files to complement 1.1. When the documentation refers to "unvoz" it is not meaning uninstall Voz 1.1, it is referring to the "unvoz" button in the Voz configuration manager ensuring that the default textures are installed in FS2004 and all the Voz related files are in their default locations to the install works correctly.Hope this helps,Zane

It simply swaps the VOZ textures and default textures, thus restoring FS to the default state... ;)

When I installed this morning it asked me if I wanted to overwrite some read only files. Anyone know what that's about?

By "unvozing" your default textures are restored.Choose yes when asked to "overwrite", then after install "voz" the region you wish to fly in. Remember the SE region now has the four seasons. Select your season from FS as normal.ausie.vozsig_ausie.jpg

Bill's right on the money :) Basically, only if you are a previous user of VOZ 1.1 should you "UNVOZ", which is a term coined when we released VOZ and yes, probably unfamiliar to first-time users ;)
