March 10, 20188 yr Hi All I was about to load my new system-P3Dv4 and Win 10 I noticed that some here advise using a Program to let Win 10 security updates through automatically but block Driver updates Is this a common or even good practice? A program called Shutup 10 has been mentioned xxd09
March 11, 20188 yr I haven't had any problems with win 10, auto downloading and installing updates. It has never overwritten my Nvidia graphics drivers, which I update when I get an update notification. Having said that, some have had problems with the drivers defaulting back to the windows version. I guess it's just a matter of seeing what happens with your system and adjusting to suit.
March 11, 20188 yr I tried automatic driver updates with Windows Vista and one of the video card updates turned it into a nearly non-functioning laptop. Since then, I reverted to my old ways of finding video and audio drivers that work well, then not updating them. Honestly, video card driver updates are generally to fix problems and add support for the newest games and video cards on the market. They do little or nothing to improve performance with flight sims based on the MicroSoft flightsim engine or for older video cards. Just my two cents. My computer: ABS Gladiator Gaming PC featuring an Intel 10700F CPU, EVGA CLC-240 AIO cooler (dead fans replaced with Noctua fans), Asus Tuf Gaming B460M Plus motherboard, 16GB DDR4-3000 RAM, 1 TB NVMe SSD, EVGA RTX3070 FTW3 video card, dead EVGA 750 watt power supply replaced with Antec 900 watt PSU.
March 11, 20188 yr I have the latest windows 10 updates and I update my video drivers every month through NVidia and do not have a problem, and I have not had a problem running P3Dv4 since I installed last year, I must be lucky judging by some users post. Raymond Fry.
