March 24, 20188 yr New Mexico is not often thought of as farmland, but near the Texas border it is. I love looking at the circles that one sees in farmland in this part of the US. John Edited March 24, 20188 yr by John_Cillis Prefix added

They pivot from a central point and are geared so that the far end moves more slowly than the middle than the center. Same approach to metering the water from the sprinkler heads. Thought they were unique to the southwest region but we have them in eastern Maryland also. The two businesses I worked for were based in Maryland, one in Gaithersburg and the other in Rockville. I used to stay in Gaithersburg about two months out of the year for a couple of years and would commute home to California between my other business trips. I flew in and out of all three DC airports but I preferred Baltimore. Thanks for the info on the irrigation, I was wondering how they made such circles. John
