June 12, 200619 yr I was curious if anyone had experienced this problem before. The FMS on the plane is completly screwed up, it shows climb, des, and crz as active throughout the flight at all times. If VNAV is engaged after t/o the plane will go into a dive and preform a normal vnav descent, but it will do it at the wrong time, during the climb phase! It seems like the fmc is getting very confused, any suggestions on what to do? I already contacted ariane and they absoulutely will not help me.

June 13, 200619 yr How weren't they a help? I'll be the first to admit that I don't have any (recent) experince with Ariane, but what did they say? Like a basic "f* off", or did they ask you for information you can't (or don't know how to) provide? All I'm sayin' is don't put down the developer (no matter how bad their reputation), without actually giving more specifics...and I guess this is not so much to you, as to everyone who is going to jump on this thread bashing them. Don't. Not without the full story.About the FMC issue...well, like I said, how weren't they helpful? That'd be a good place to start.Seeya! - Paul
June 13, 200619 yr The main problem with Ariane is that their support is based on ONE AOL e-mail address and AOL is notorious for swallowing and/or spam-marking e-mails. I tried to contact them a few times about pre-sale questions, but because the AOL e-mail service is hit or miss, they most likely never got it. This is not Ariane's fault, but still, any serious business should not rely on a proprietary email service, especially AOL.-Pat
June 13, 200619 yr Am I understanding correctly that Ariane does not have a forum? If not thats pretty sad. Heck Ive got freeware planes that have forums.
June 13, 200619 yr Beofre this topic is locked I posted this hoping someone had a similar experience and I might be able to actually use this $115 airplane. Ariane could not figure out what was wrong so they refrenced me to another company that would charge $85+ to try and see what was wrong. So if anyone knows what is wrong with my 737 please tell me, dont turn this into an ariane flam fest there are enough of those.
June 13, 200619 yr Sounds like a misconfiguration of the flightplan. If you program a DP with altitude restrictions for example and you engage VNAV mode while you're over those restrictions the AP will probably dive to compensate.I'm running the BBJ variant of the VCe 2.0 and have not seen the behaviour you describe.I suggest recording very meticulously what you're doing and when and then seeing if there's a logical explanation for the behaviour (which there likely will be).
June 13, 200619 yr Im really stumped here, I preflight this plane the same way I do every plane, whether it be LDS 767, PMDG 747 of MDMAX MD80, but somethign is seriously wrong. I start out by starting with the default flight, then I load the 737, I turn on the APU, I then turn off the engines. Then I bring up the fmc and type the name of the airport, then line select the lat/long number and enter it. Then I switch the irs to NAV. Then I enter the dep and arrival airports. Now it getts weird. I then am forced to Select a r/w for t/o so the via and to is displayed on the rte page. I find it odd that I cannot enter waypoints in legs or rte until a r/w of departure is selected, I didnt see that in any manual. Then I activate the flightplan with the waypoints inserted. Then it gets even more weird. Before this stage clb, crz, and des were not labeled as active. Now they are all labeled with the letters ACT at the same time! I also have many other small issues such as no flap speeds displayed on the speedtape, no turn vector on the nd and no descent path displayed either, but thats another story.
June 13, 200619 yr I just did a short flight and noticed that the t/d in the crz page was stuck at 106nm and would never change, and app ref would not be active when in des mode, instead perf init would still be displayed. It seems like the fmc is confused about what phase of flight the plane is in.
June 13, 200619 yr Seems you have a 'bugged' or somehow corrupted FMC.First, I suggest that you delete and reload the plane (assuming this in itself doesn't cause you grief with Ariane's security etc.).If you still encounter the same problems, the fault MUST be with Ariane, and there are bound to be others with similar problems, so maybe you can suggest to Ariane that THEY spend $85 with 'the other company' to debug their FMC.....Good Luck!Toni.
June 14, 200619 yr Well thanks for your support, I have uninstalled many times, it seems as If I have bugged fmc, really a shame because their airplanes are just so darn pretty!
June 14, 200619 yr After a recent re-install of WinXP and FS, the Ariane plane among many other payware aircraft didn't make it onto my harddrive again.I couldn't fully adapt to the VC, and some things on the plane are buggy or badly missing (I experienced the same dive behaviour when engaging VNAV after TO).In addition to that, I decided to mainly buy products in the future where the online activation is predictible and proven (or the product is available on CD).As good as Ariane's support is (I never had a problem contacting them and getting help), the product isn't good enough for my taste.Just a personal opinion and my 2 cent.Andreas Andreas, LOWW - Nihil sumus et fuimus mortales. June 14, 200619 yr Thanks for they reply, I guess I'll just have to deal with it, I filed a dispute with my credit card and it looks like I have revieved my money back. And yeah, they really did leave ALOT of things out, waaay to much for a $115 airplane.
