April 6, 20188 yr I am going through the manual on how to enter a flightplan and can do so using the FMS knob but it just does not work if I try to use the keyboard on the GCU477 (I assume that is the attached keyboard which you can bring up with shift+4) nor can I get the computer keyboard to work with Scroll Lock. I have gone into the P3D menu and deleted the scroll lock setting to ATC. Any ideas? Mark CYYZ
April 6, 20188 yr I have spent a lot of time with the F1 King Air in P3Dv4. What exactly do you mean you "can do so using the FMS knob"? You are selecting letters with that knob or the G1000 is cycling pages? I don't recall being able to actually enter letters with just the FMS knob.

I am using the knob to scroll through letters and numbers, however, what I would really like to do is use the keyboard on the panel. Mark CYYZ
April 6, 20188 yr Hi Mark, This works for me. Can you post the steps you're taking to enter the flight plan? April 6, 20188 yr Author Well I did manage to get the keyboard panel to work by moving around with the FMS + and - buttons plus the roll on my mouse. It is just awkward to work with until you are used to it I guess. If you have any suggestions on how you work it I am all ears.. I have activated the leg but for some reason cannot get NAV to work on the AP. Mark CYYZ

Intercept the course with HDG and then activate NAV. Greg Greg Morin Commercial ASMEL Instrument CFI Beta Tester i Blue Yonder, Flightbeam and Milviz
April 9, 20188 yr Use shift 4 to bring up the 2 d panel. It is easier to use. Frankly I think the G1000 depicted is incomplete and showing its age now. It does not compare well with the default in Xplane 11 now. Answers such as the one on their forum that things like vertical navigation is not suported as it is an entertainment product and if we want more buy the G1000 of his sister company do not go down so well in 2018 as they do in 2012. That said the plane flies well. Edited April 9, 20188 yr by harrry Harry Woodrow

Yet, everyone seems to think it’s some demanding G1000 high end add-on. It’s really not. The GTN750 has way more features, is up to date and runs separately taking like 5% of system resources. This G1000 is really a glorified moving map that eats like 30 FPS with a few data menus reading navigraph waypoints. That being said the G1000 gets you from A to B. It flies great and I love turning off the autopilot and bringing it in from the FAF, if not further out.
