I love my sim!!!

After getting bored with FS9 I put it on the side for a few months. About 2 weeks ago I got back into flight simming. I read reviews of programs like Ground Environment and Ultimate terrain and decided to give them a shot. I wanted to do a clean install of FS9 so I saved all my planes and uninstalled it. I then realized I was missing disk 3 for FS9. I jumped in the car and ran to the local computer store to pick up a new copy of the sim. after installing FS9, I flew it stock for a few days. The reason for this is it took me 95 hours, yes 95 hours to download Ultimate Terrain on dialup! After installing Ground Environment, Ultimate terrain, and Active Camera I kept getting CTD's. I did countless re installs before I realized I was using the version of Active Camera for the non patched FS9. I just assumed that since I did not install the patch on my new copy of FS9, that I would need the non patched version of Active Camera. I did not take into account that the new copy I had purchased of FS9 was the patched version. I am now in the process of re-downloading Ultimate Traffic since I forgot to back it up (8 more hours to go!) To make an already long post a little shorter, I downloaded FS Recorder Version 1.2 today. In the process of watching my ailerons move in wingview it hit me. I now love FS9! The moving control surfaces in play back mode is something I always wanted and now I have it. I hope you guys are having as much fun as I am with this sim. Im so happy I had to tell someone. I figure you guys are the only people who might understand my excitement. I think my friends and family would look at me like I was crazy lol. I am still a closet simmer anyway. I still hide my joystick when company comes over.:-lol

Yeah, I get the crazy looks when I tell my colleagues at work about FS. Oh well, their loss, LOL.Funny, my girlfriend came over last week while I was in the middle of a dawn flight thru British Colombia, over Vancouver + in my Aeroworx King Air with real weather. She stood there for some time and after the flight she remarked at how beautiful and realistic the sky looked (thanks Active Sky) and how realistic looking the scenery was (thanks Jon and Holger). She actually has a little more interest in it now AND understands why I spent the money I did on my latest rig, LOL, scary!Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/tfbeta.jpg

Well I was a bit bored, but I discovered something new this morning: Recorder V1.2. Matthias did something exceptional with this version: make a flight and record it, play your flight as an AI. Escort your previous flight, but think at the possibilities of making a stunt team! Record the first member, play back and do the other members manoeuvres etc.I am hooked again!Hugo

Just remember though... FS won't settle down and have a family with you.Keep it real, but yes it's addictive!

I must admit my wife occasionally likes to embarress me, she'll remark to people that i sit on my pc thinking i'm a real pilot, i must admit i cringe every time she does this as people think i must be a bit of a nutcase!Paul.

Ah see now I don't have a wife, and nor do I care what ppl think. The guys at work can vouch for that. Hey, I never will get a wife so FS and my electronic (and quite sexy actually) female voice that is my co-pilot is all I have, and that just means if I look at it the right way - No wife = no extra costs = more to spend on FS. :)Sad I know, but ain't that life? And I get to see the world, places I will never see for real, yet I fly there for Air-Source and can read all about them, so may not see them but I do learn something about them.

My ex wife kept me from any "ME" time, so any lady in my life has to be understanding of my PC/design time (as I with hers), that is keeping it real for me. :-)Regards, MichaelKDFWhttp://www.calvirair.com/mcpics/tfbeta.jpg

Then other times I get a blank stare followed by "ahhhh that
