The FSD Navajo Panther is it something special

Featured Replies

What makes me ask this is what was written in the Avsim review for this plane which is'This airplane, simply, has the best flight characteristics of any airplane I have flown in any simulator. I know that some may disagree, but I have flown a lot of good add-on airplanes over the years and this one has them all beat. This airplane is so much fun to fly

Do keep in mind, that this review is two years and three months old.I have my own thoughts on flight dynamics, considering the type of aircraft I like to sim fly, but as I remember, the Navajo has some good ones.L.Adamson

Yes... it's a gem and a keeper :).Perfect plane for when you need to carry more than the Dreamfleet Baron ;).

I haven't got the Panther but have two other FSD aircraft and they both have wonderful flight dynamics. Steve Small is on the FSD team and he is an FDE wizard, not to put too fine a point on it:-) . I guess he'd have been responsible for the Panther's flight model too.

I use the Navajo and really enjoy flying it. It's definately a keeper, but you do have to be a little careful not to blow the engines up on departure... ;-)I have no problems recommending it at all.Ian P.

The best way to enjoy this plane is with a ch product quadrant. My is comming in a few days.

I own ALOT of planes and enjoy the Navajo as much or more than many of the latest releases. Its a good, solid twin that has a very usable vc,great looks and I get good fps with it.

>Do keep in mind, that this review is two years and three>months old.>But the review states 'I think it's the closest thing to flying a real airplane that can be achieved on a personal computer' and it can still be true that this is the best that can be done when it comes to flight characteristics. Maybe it's more difficult to get the flightmodel correct on another airplane type?BTW I have two other FSD planes i.e Aerostar and Seneca. I'm curious about whether the Navajo has a better flight characteristic than these other FSD planes.

In my experience they are all just as good. I think the reason people have a tendency to bring of the Navajo is because in real life it is sort of akin to driving a pickup truck. Holds a lot of stuff, is just about indestructible and is handles great on the road.Kind of hard to model in this simulator. Rob

The FSD Navajo Panther is a very stable aircraft, in real life and in the fsd model. It makes an excellent IFR aircraft because you you can trim it very precisely and fly a hand approach to minimums with only a reasonable effort. I also have the FSD Aerostar, but much prefer the Navajo, which has (IMHO), a much better instrument layoutI played around with the damage modeling, but eventually turned it down to the easiest setting - some will find it entertaining, but I found it annoying Dale

Honestly I never bought the Aerostar. It just has no appeal to me. But agree about the Navajo. Its modeling is spot on.Rob
