Due to an issue with my ops center and my PC it has never worked and have worked with pmdg to fix it to no avail. Is it possible to update my products by uninstalling, redownloading the entire product and the reinstalling it?

The installers are not always up to the latest version. ie the installer might be couple version behind what you get from OC.

 

By any chnance do you use any download accelerator programs like download accelerator plus or similar?

IYes I have download accelerator plus, but I also have same program on my laptop that is windows 7 and ops center works fine but I am open to suggestions.

Turning it off will not help as it keeps working in the background. The best will be to uninstall it

IDM (Internet Download Manager) does not interfere with OC downloads, and it does the same basic thing as an "accelerator" plus it integrates very well with all popular browsers.

Interesting I will give it a shot.
