Displaced Terrain

Recommended Posts

Dear All,

Has anyone encountered displaced terrain where tarmacs, buildings, etc. are below a clipped plane? I've come across it before but don't recall the fix.

Do you FTX Vector installed? If yes, disable the airport in Vectors AEC settings.

I do have it and it is installed Harry. AEC settings? Is that in P3D settings Harry? I uninstalled it under FTX Central and it seems to have mitigated the problem. I'm a bit disappointed that Vector (a v4 certified product) wouldn't be compatible with other v4 products. Am I missing something here?

Which add-on sceneries are you using where this is a problem and which terrain mesh are you using?

This can easily be fixed, just need to know a few things first.

AEC (airport elevation correction) is a feature of FTX vector. It adds new altitude values to many default airports. If you have an add-on airport with better/different data which does this itself it can come to problems like you described. In this case you have to disable that airport in FTX Vector AEC (you can call it via FTX central-->Vector Config. Tool --> AEC) - don't forget to press apply. You can find additional information in the Vector manual.

Okay, got it. Thank you Harry. I hadn't used that option before.
