GE Pro....what's your routine?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,Any textures can be implemented after another. They are not active until FS04 starts. Users can mix and match as much as they want! If by "change" you mean replace, but if you mean influence, then no.It seems simple just to remember that ANY FS04 textures can be changed, switched in or out, or modified as many times as a user wants, from whatever source, until FS04 start!Hope this helps,Jimhttp://www.hifisim.com/Active Sky V6 Development Team Active Sky V6 Proud SupporterHiFi Beta TeamRadar Contact Supporter: http://www.jdtllc.com/AirSource Member: http://www.air-source.us/FSEconomy Member:http://dot.kelder.net:8080/fseconomy/

Understand Jim. But I think some folks are concerned that ASv6 might *replace* the METAR generated GE Pro sky color during ASv6 *weather and cloud generation* after FS has started.I guess my desire is the use the GE Pro sky *and* ground textures, and was not sure if ASv6 would change that selection once *inside* FS. Sky color is the only common textures between Pro and AS, thus the routine 'concern'.Thus, I simply made a ASv6 theme without sky color selected which I use with Pro.

The nice thing about this Jim is that I discovered a nice new cloud theme to use in ASv6 ;)Sometimes you need a 'bump' to look into alternatives...Still loving ASv6 Jim....and just hoping the Pro guys get the METAR location thingy fixed/updated soon. When everything is working together, the combination can be stunning indeed.

Sorry, Had Bev....Bought GEPRO....and reinstalled BEV!My personal OPINION is that BEV "Rocks" and has way better frame rates, better scenery, and is soon going to update the entire world. I also think that BEV is better in the smaller cities and airports, and above all, very much less "complicated" to install, start, and enjoy.Rememember....This is my personal opinion, and I guess that's what count!ps. BEV also is more friendly with my favorite Weather program..ASv6.

helloFurther ahead in what way?The whole BEV project is just one broken promise after another.I supported them in the beginning but ran out of patience with the the whole project while waiting for european textures to show up,never mind the rest of the world. How long do you think it will take them to catch up and implement texture coloration based on downloaded metars.Like i said dont hold your breath

Hey...nothing against GEPro...don't get me wrong. I found the Ge Pro was cumbersome, and affected my viewing pleasure, UNLIKE BEV textures. I was very careful, installed and reinstalled GePro, but I got major blurries (on my system....2.8gig Dell, 1 gig Ram, 7800 Nvidia 256 card)and poor performance. Also, I didn't see the Autogen looking any more realistic than the 5 volumes of Bev that I invested in. I really don't care if the rest of the world isn't done in Bev, although I believe it will. I fly mostly in the U.S., and again, for me..BEV fits the bill!ps. If I could sell my copy of GePro, I would! Stan

Thanks for the info, I still have a question about the Pro....I know ASV uses graphics to duplicate the exact weather (super job), in online mode, and the Pro does basically the same for the ground scenery (right??), but user has to load a set into Pro before starting a flight......now my question is, what if I load a cloudy set in Pro, and ASV says it is clear? Or visa versa, does the Pro auto switch to the exact weather similar to ASV?? Sure appreciate some clarification on how this tracks exact conditions

>ps. If I could sell my copy of GePro, I would!>> StanStan, I believe F1 has a 30 day return guarantee. If you are not happy, 'return it'. They have a way of deactivating the key you were given.

Just a real simple question (I hope) What settings do I use to get the most realistic real world weather comditions, both for ASV and Pro (don't have time to set up preprogram weather and such, just want ts see what the weather is in various places.........this is better than the weatherman) If I want to fly in rain, I find somewhere it is raining and ASV makes it realistic!! SO would like the ground to be realistic also.......Thanks to all responding B42L8

If you want the sky and ground textures to match the weather being generated by ASv6, you have to run the Weather Control in GE Pro and download the METAR data from NOAA. The program has to read that data and make a selection of textures based on that information. Once it submits the textures and you start FS9, those textures remain in place until you restart FS9. The only textures that can be changed on the fly are cirrus clouds which ASV handles.Load up ASV, then run GE Pro and get the METARs from your departure and destination areas. Add intermediate airports if you like. Then start FS9. ASV will select the cloud textures, and GE Pro will put the ground and sky textures into the sim.If you don't want to wait for GE Pro to decode its data, manually select a set of textures that approximate the conditions you see in ASV.Jim Karnhttp://www.precisionmanuals.com/images/forum/pmdg_pf.jpg
