August 3, 20187 yr Great news "for sure" Forshaw, Perhaps a driver glitch or lingering older driver code was your issue, between a 700 Gen and a 1000 Gen card, they are quite different (tech wise). Fresh clean drivers set suggested by vortex681 validates your choice of replacement card for FSX. Cleaning up the FSX.cfg was also a wise move. And as cmpbellsjc recommends above, flushing the Shader cache is also highly recommended after installing a new Graphics card and driver. Cheers Jethro
August 3, 20187 yr Author Yeah, that was definitely the issue, and as suggested by Cmpbellsjc I will definitely flush the Shader Cache, never thought about that. Interesting, I really never update my FSX rig or had to replace a component before due to failure, so I never took note of the little things to do when something is replaced. I change my rig every 4 to 6 years (donate my old to charity) and so I have always matched and tweaked everything on 1st install. I am now much more aware of what else i should be looking for, thanks to you folks here on the Forum. I am actually going to purchase Ground Environment X NA V2 since I have this issue now behind me to spice things up a little. Thanks again. Best. Forshaw.
