How do I Save a flight pln & panel state for future flight in 747V2?
Hello. I am trying to figure out how to correctly save and retrieve a flight plan and panel state in mid fight and retrieve it later and continue on my flight path as normal. • Flying from KJFK to KALX. Flt Plan generated by FS Commander and import to iFLY 747 v2 and MS FSX for coordination with FSX ATC. • Save the flight in FSX, iFly planner and panel state ½ into the flight at cruising alt with all 3 names being the same. Then exit FSX. • Fire up FSX, go to KJFK select iFly 747 v2 aircraft and ensure everything is in normal state. • Load the saved fsx saved flight plan, load the iFly flight plan, and load the panel state. All by the book. • Results: I can never get the LNAV and VNAV to engage together, regardless of all of the combinations. I sometimes get “LNAV and VNAV Ref not available” sometimes I get “No Active Route.” I have tried a number of different combinations in various sequences but to no avail. I do see the purple line with the waypoints and stations so the plan is there but can’t get the plane engaged to fly the plan. Any help, suggestions would be greatly appreciated from anyone who has tried this before. Thanks. Kindest Regards. F.

WX Architect, really?
Ok understood. I am more interested in real weather situation not so much into creating my own, so WX doesn't really suit my purposes. I currently use ASN so I'll wait for Weather Direct and then I will be comparing apples to apples and see which one I like better.

WX Architect, really?
Thanks for your response. Yes I do know that Texture Direct does not supply the weather, I am using ASN for the weather coupled with Texture Direct for texture. My question was more about WX compared to ASN as a weather tool. Thanks again. Anthony Forshaw.

WX Architect, really?
Hi Folks; Is there any benefit using WX Architect with Rex4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds over ASN? They are both from the same company so is it same to assume that Texture Direct will render the weather (clouds, rain, thunder storm) from WX Arch better than ANS? I currently have REX4 Texture Direct with Soft Clouds married with ASN which works great. But williing to try WX Arch if it does make a big difference in that area. Any comments, suggestions? Thanks very much. Kindest Regards. Anthony Forshaw.

ASN reporting "seem" incorrect weather at least at the NY Airports
forshaw replied to forshaw's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHi Kimberly; I did, thank you. They were very helpfull. We concluded that it was one of those weird weather situations where the rain was rapidly moving to the North and the weather stations may have been a little delayed in reporting the changing conditions. WIll continue to explore and enjoy using ASN product. Thanks again. Kindest Regards. Anthony C. Forshaw

ASN reporting "seem" incorrect weather at least at the NY Airports
forshaw replied to forshaw's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumNo, set to live. I would have attached screen shots of my settings but can't on this forum. I am going to register on the official software forum and see if they have any suggestions. Something isn't set right somewhere. I can't imagine this product be that incorrect. Thanks for your suggestion. Anthony Forshaw.

ASN reporting "seem" incorrect weather at least at the NY Airports
Hi Folks; I just purchased ASN about a week ago and have been using it but decided to put it to a real test for reporting accurate weather. It was raining in NY the evening on 07/09 for a few hours at both KJFK and KLGA (LaGuardia Airport). Also confirmed it was raining at both Airports. I did a short flight (FSX) KBOS to KJFK and when I approach and landed at JFK it was bone dry and ASN weather reported no precipitation which was incorrect. I then disabled ASN and downloaded FSX weather and weather was totally correct, rain with light thunderstorm. I exited FSX came back in and started at JFK waited for a while to see if the weather would change and it didn't. I have ASN set to update every 5 min. Loaded FSX weather and again showed the correct weather. This also happened at KLGA. The reason I chose those locations is beacuse I can confirm the weather 100% in and around the area. It actually rained consistntly for more then 2 hours. Not sure what weather stations ASN is using but I have a concern if FSX is more accurate than ASN which is solely a weather engine. These are major airports not small airports outside of weather stations. This is the 1st weather engine I have ever used, I have always used the default FSX weather. I am sharing to see if anyone else has experienced a similar situation regardless of the location. I am also using REX4 direct with Soft Clouds. Any input, thoughts and or suggestions are welcomed and appreciated. Thanks. Kindest regards. Anthony Forshaw.

What is the best all round texture package for FSX, emphasis on Airport texture
Hi Folks; I got it to complete a download. I tired it around 2:00 AM EST and was over in approximately 30 mins. Interesting, that SimMarket says that they don't support Download Manager in their resonse to my ticket . In any event I ended up un-installing the software because of limited disk space and poor "uninstall software". 1. I have 49.9 GB of (of 117 GB) available disk space on my SSD drive which I only use for Windows and FSX. I have another drive for other things which is 1TB. REX4 Direct with S/Clouds required 30GB so I was ok. 2. I installed the software on my D: drive not the SSD in order to save space but intended to have it point to my FX SSD drive for set up. 3 After installation it said I had about 19 GB available which was strange since I didn't install the software on my SSD, but I noticed it installed MS SQL 12 on my SSD drive, but still shouldn't be that little left, unless SQL is 99% of the install. 4. Just to be sure I uninstalled everything, SQL and REX4 software. After the install I didn't check to see my available space, but made sure they no longer existed on my drives and was missing in the installed software. 5. I then reinstalled everything and noticed that my SSD was red only3 GB available. Now I was bloody ###### since unstalling did not remove much and added all of the additional software to my drive. Which move it closer to the edge. 5. I un-installed everything and nothing changed, it stayed at 3 GB available. I am sure SQL (all components) was not really removed. UNIX is different from windows in that way. 6. I ended up reverting back to a 3 week old back up to get back my 49 GB of free space. I wouldn't be using REX4 until I have a 512 GB SSD . Thanks again Folks. Anthony Forshaw.

What is the best all round texture package for FSX, emphasis on Airport texture
Hi Craig; Thanks for the encouraging note. I did try on 2 occasions different day and time and about the same. Both of their servers show the same usage percentage. WIth so may products on sale i guess their servers are extremely busy. i am going try again this evening hopefully with better luck. Cheers. Anthony Forshaw.

What is the best all round texture package for FSX, emphasis on Airport texture
Just purchased REX Texture Direct HD with Soft Clouds from Sim Market, due to the size 7.18 GB the download failed twice. My internet is fast 50mbps/50mbps but downloading via Sim Market network is very very slow. Based on the calculations of the download it will take at least 8 hours to complete the download. Has anyone one else experienced this issue with their download? Thanks. Anthony Forshaw.

Thanks for your response Luis. I did take a look at the Zinetck product which looks good, but wasn't sure how it measured up to AEHDX. Best Regards. Forshaw.

What is the best all round texture package for FSX, emphasis on Airport texture
Hi Folks; I am looking for a good texture software for FSX mainly for the default buildings, taxiway and runway. All of my flights originate in NY so i have FSDreamTeam KJFK V2 and DRZEWIECKI DESIGN for KLGA installed for full airport scenery. Runway texture for FSDreamTeam v2 could be better but, that's another discussion  For the other default airports I fly into I am looking to spice up the appearance. I have read a lot about AIRPORT ENHANCER HDX i.e on this forum which seems to be at the top of the list. I have also see responses on REX4 but some seem to suggest that the airport texture on the AEHDX may be a bit better. So I have 2 questions: I have read somewhere it was stated that REX4 and AEHDX can be combined (co exist) to get the best of both worlds. I didn't realize they could. 1) If so, should I just get both and I am good to go? 2) If they cannot exist REX4 airport texture overrides AEHDX then should I just get AEHDX? If it came down to which textures I prefer to help make a decision I would say Airport texture over Clouds, water, etc. Hope this helps so that you can steer me in the right direction since most of you already have either or both of them at one point. Thanks again. Kindest Regards. Forshaw.

Who uses the taxing On option ?
How do you get the follow me car to work? I tired Ctrl + F12 and I only go 5 or 6 options all related to Jef Blue or American gates and door opening. Nothing about followintg a car.I have actually exited the runway and already cleared to proceed to the assigned gate. When I click on Add On and GSX it says "Product in Trial Mode which i assume is correct. i never downloaded it from the web site it was part of the Airport install. Should i download the entire free version from the site in orde for it to work? Thanks again for your help. Best Regards. Forshaw.

Who uses the taxing On option ?
Hi Christopher, not to worry you didn't mislead. I was just curious if you use any type of add-on regardless of the airport. I actually fly EGLL - KJFK - EGLL quite a lot since I fly the PMDG 747 Forshaw Ah, interesting  . Thanks

Who uses the taxing On option ?
Hi Christopher; If you don't mind me asking are you using an Add-on if so what is it; or are you using the default airport? Thanks. Best Regards. Forshaw C.

Who uses the taxing On option ?
Hi Folks; Thanks for your responses and advice, I really appreciate it. After playing around and taxiing (it is 2 i's) for sometime I finally decided to deactivate the product and go back to the default airport. I prefer to spend my time flying my PMDG 747 and Quality Wings 757. Will probably get another product that supports the PT. Thanks again. Forshaw

Who uses the taxing On option ?
So, I did go ahead and purchase the product right after my last post. I do like the product but still trying to come to grips with no lines. I did try taxing to the gate after a landing and it took me the devil's own job to find the gate, yes I got lost. I do fly the 747 PMDG and have my sliders all to the right for best display. My rig is powerfull so no issues with FPS. I have my FRare set to 30 max and never goes below 28-29 regardless where I fly or what addons. Now for the interesting part. I did notice that small yellow taxi lines showed up for about 15 seconds and then faded away. This happened twice and then faded permanently. Any idea why the lines would show at all if they are not supposed to. Would be great if it stayed on Thanks again. Forshaw. Hi Berlopez; Sorry what is PT option? Regards. Forshaw

Who uses the taxing On option ?
Thanks very much for your response and explanation and it does make sense and I appreciate it, It's not that much of an issue getting from the gate to the runway however, getting from the runway to the gate after landing is more of challenge. I tried it a few times without the taxi aid and with an airport chat and great signs, still an issue  Having said that, If others can figure it out I guess I should take the time and do it. Thanks again for the advice, will give it a try. Kindest Regards. Forshaw.

Who uses the taxing On option ?
HI Folks; Am I correct in assuming that the yellow taxi guidance lines (arrows) do not work with the NY JFK V2 product? I am looking to purchase this product and if that's the case, then that's a concern for me. I use the big hubs all the time and trying to get the correct runway is a challenge without it. I have tied using the overhead view etc.etc. to find my way around and I waste too much time. I never use a 3rd party produce for ATC and I don't intend to buy one. I use the MS FSX default ATC for taxing (yellow lines) to and from a gate and it works well. Please let me know if I am correct in assuming that this option doesn't work. Thank again. Forshaw

Can the iFly 747-400 v2 FMC import Flight Plans from FSX?
Fantastic, thank you. I wasn’t quite sure of the FSX plan side and if any manual manipulation was required to make it exactly the same. Thanks again. Best Regards. Forshaw C.

Can the iFly 747-400 v2 FMC import Flight Plans from FSX?
Hi; Is there a 3rd, party product out there that will convert a flight plan created in by the default FSX planner to iFLY 747 v2? There are a few out there for PMDG 747 which I use and work great. i am looking to purchase the iFLY 747 V2 product and wanted to know if there was something similar. Thanks. Forshaw.

Can the iFly 747-400 v2 FMC import Flight Plans from FSX?
Hi, I wanted to know if the iFly 747-400 v2 FMC can import flight plans created in the default FSX planner. I always create my flight plans in FSX so that I can fly with the FSX ATC. I don't mind setting up the FMC in terms of the pre-flight setup and landing but I don't like entering the actual route entries. Any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. F.
