August 15, 20187 yr Commercial Member Hello! So I have been wanting to upgrade CPU, however, I would need to change my MBO and RAM as well and I don’t have the money right now. The question is, if I find a good deal on the 4790K, it it worth upgrading from an OC 4.4gHZ 4770K? Will I see any difference? August 15, 20187 yr http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-4790K-vs-Intel-Core-i7-4770K/2384vs1537 I think you will not see huge improvements with this CPU. You will see big improvements by replacing your MB and buying newer generation CPU. You will also see differences for example by upgrading CPU from i5 to i7 or i7 to i9. August 15, 20187 yr Maybe wait a few weeks and see what happens when new GPU's and CPU's come out. You won't see much of an improvement. I just upgraded from the 4790k to the 8086k and that was a tremendous leap for me. I waited and got a great deal on Newegg with a combo sale for the 8086 and mobo. I say if you're going to upgrade then go for the 8086k or save $100 bucks and go for the 8700k and new mobo and DDR4 ram. You'll be good for a few years with that. August 15, 20187 yr Like you I have a 4770K and a 4790K running in both my PC's the 4770K is O/C to 4 ghz and the 4790K is running at stock and there is very little difference between them. My advice is wait for P3D V5 and see what sort of system requirements that will need. My youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/c/Dkentflyer
