Engines won't settle

Featured Replies

Good Morning,

I've a question regarding the PMDG DC-6 on Prepar3d V4.3.

I've tried using FSUIPC to set the throttles, and via the sim itself but I have a problem with the engine power settings not settling.

For instance, when I ask the AFE to do the takeoff power, he tries to 'settle' at 30", but all I see is the engines moving up and down and being unable to settle on one MP. It seems a little odd and not the behavour I've seen in some videos. This behavour repeats itself across all modes of flight.

Could someone shed some light on if I have something set up wrongly please?

Thanks,

James Walker

Remove FSUIPC from the equation?  What happens when you set takeoff power instead of AFE?  "Settle at 30," I'm not exactly sure what this means,  takeoff power should be something like 52 inHg depending on if wet or dry.

sounds like he might have meant "stabilize" at 30"

Tried without FSUIPC - It seems the afe can't stabilise the engines at any power setting ... Unsure why not..

Ok, strangely last night it all worked fine!

Not sure what was the issue, but it appears to have resolved itself now! Had a very successful flight yesterday evening.
