Google earth scenery

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have recently found a video on youtube of a landing in KLAX on fsx and instead of using default scenery he was using Google earth https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-HfzDidYxXY is there any way I can use Google earth for my fsx I have searched through Google but I cant find anything.

Hi,

Just post prod video editing. A post from the author:

It's video editing. Mask the cockpit in FSX then overlay it to the flight simulator feature in Google Earth

You can load online aerial imagery in to FSX using something called TileProxy. However Google blocked it because of bandwidth usage so you'd probably have to use Bing. You won't get the 3D buildings, it's just flat aerial imagery.

I don't think it'd be terribly desirable even if it were real. I remember poking around at the Google flight sim when they first came out with it. Aside from the lame physics, the scenery was just.. Bad. Any time there's stitching of two images going on, that shows up in your flight. It looks terrible. I'd take the default FSX scenery over that.
