August 31, 20187 yr Hello corporate captains, Several hours, several several study and just a few hard landings after..... i wonder why mexternal visual shadows sometimes look fine on the light side, but looks like texture problem on the oposite side? Some pictures of the problem: That is P3DV4.3 low dinamic lighting settings.... Thanks... August 31, 20187 yr Hi Raphael, Yep - I’ve seen that since I started flying the plane - something is odd about the way the side is lit by the sun - I had always assumed that the model was built I. modular sections and for some reason the lighting on the transition doesn’t work right... I’ve only noticed this issue on the Flysimware Lear... Regards, Scott
August 31, 20187 yr Author Yeah, feels like that... Know what? I wonder if FSW might be considering about updating the LJ35A.... It is so widely used, and its so fantastic to fly, that i bet numerous simmers will support it(again).....😉✔️ Raphael Chacón FLYSIMWARE-SM#1378797 RXP750-#1533812 RXP530-#1526291 RXP430-#1543520 FS2C #43560 #52175 #68068 #68152 #69299 #71201 #72243 #105040 SM#1325481 PMDG #60260 #73469 #144746 #194702 #196953 #230831 #236231 #251801 #266742 #336381 #397556
September 1, 20187 yr Hi Raphael. Yep - concur - anything to fix this wonderful aircraft would be most welcome - it’s a favorite and the most frequently flown FS aircraft - over the longest period of time - ever - for me... I believe it’s now surpassed my DA Cheyenne for hours flown... Regards, Scott Edited September 1, 20187 yr by scottb613
September 5, 20187 yr Commercial Member We use a program called raditor to set the rotating view. If this view is too far off it can cause strange shadow effects that we test for. We have never had feedback in the latest P4D versions. Right now we always set the bounding box to all 0's. You could try to download this program and set the bounding box to: X -6.0 / 6.24 Y -1.6 / 2.96 Z -7.88 / 7.81 Radius 10.48 https://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=RADItor My beta tester and i tried to simulate the issue in P3D V.3 and the shadows are fine. We used dynamic lighting low. So try this or tell us the exact settings and what to do to see this issue.

I started with V3 and I recall the shadow issue was similar there - as Raphael pointed out in the pix - the sides of the aircraft will be in shadow but the shadow doesn't seem to wrap to the tapered nose cone or the empennage... Regards, Scott
September 8, 20187 yr Commercial Member Ok i tried those setting and it fixed the issue in P3D. I made a note and will start using the correct bounding box size. Not sure if this is only a P3D V4 issue because V4 they altered the lighting effects and this caused beacon lights to bleed into our exterior models which we prevent by a special hard coded method. But V4 still got through to the exterior model. And now i wonder if this shadow issue is also a V4 issue because i was told back when V2 was out we could just use zero for the bounding box size. So again P3D has caused issues we can't fix and this one i need to update all of our aircraft since i testes 3 and they all have this shadow issue. V4 is great for the 64 bit but they need to go back to the old lighting effects. Updated X -6.0 / 6.0 Y -1.6 / 3.0 Z -7.8 / 7.8 Radius 7 https://www.fsdeveloper.com/wiki/index.php?title=RADItor X= wing from center Y=height from pivot Z=fuselage length from pivot NOTE: Feel free to estimate any of our models and then check the preview window. You should be able to fix any of our aircraft as long as your above the value of 2 on all entries. Edited September 8, 20187 yr by Flysimware
September 8, 20187 yr Commercial Member Can someone please confirm this happens in V3. And show an image!

I'm sure the model did have similar shadow issues in v3 as well - they annoyed me - LOL - I don't know why I ever didn't think to report it - I don't know - maybe I thought it would be too difficult to fix ? Would you send me your fixed mdl to test in v4 so I don't have to mess with "Radiator" ? You should have my email as we've corresponded several times... Regards, Scott

Would had saved a ton of work when i updated all my products last year. It would be easier to use the raditor than for me to send a bunch of models. This program is easy and the models never move. You read them enter the info then execute.
September 10, 20187 yr Author Good to hear... Eeeeeeexcellent!...... Feel happy about the intension to be revised... FSW was always so responsive.... Thanks for that... I hope this bird can get a bit of love for the near future... 🙂 Raphael Chacón FLYSIMWARE-SM#1378797 RXP750-#1533812 RXP530-#1526291 RXP430-#1543520 FS2C #43560 #52175 #68068 #68152 #69299 #71201 #72243 #105040 SM#1325481 PMDG #60260 #73469 #144746 #194702 #196953 #230831 #236231 #251801 #266742 #336381 #397556
September 11, 20187 yr Commercial Member Our tech pilot now is a copilot in a L35A in real life and we already have plans for a major upgrade this fall. Because there are some real life changes required in L35A starting in 2020 i think. So because it will be a while but worth the wait since we already have a scheduled update late Fall or early Spring next year. For now just use that program if the shadow issue bugs you.
September 11, 20187 yr Thanks Mark - hah - how encouraging and improved version of a timeless classic... Regards, Scott
September 13, 20187 yr Author All right, Used the program and modified the MDL values as adviced ✔️. Did a quick test and here i have some pictures to share: Looks amazing! No weird partial shadows on the fuselage... Will test a bit more... Thanks - Itll be ok to play with that until the future LJ Reloaded 😎🌡️ Raphael Chacón FLYSIMWARE-SM#1378797 RXP750-#1533812 RXP530-#1526291 RXP430-#1543520 FS2C #43560 #52175 #68068 #68152 #69299 #71201 #72243 #105040 SM#1325481 PMDG #60260 #73469 #144746 #194702 #196953 #230831 #236231 #251801 #266742 #336381 #397556

Hi Raphael, Look'n Good - beautiful pix - a classy paint as well I must say... Hi Mark, If you choose to rework the Lear at all - from a painters perspective... Higher resolution cockpit textures would be most welcome - some of the labels are pretty hard to read and I just keep getting older... If you could figure out a way NOT to use mirrored textures on the tip tanks and rudder would be most helpful as well - it's caused a problem with text on a couple paints I wanted to do...
