Project Magenta Downloads Unavailable

Featured Replies

Not sure if this is the correct forum to post this, although potentially Prepar3D specific, but I had reason to download pmsounds (from the Project Magenta website) which I purchased from Project Magenta about 5 years ago, and found that the download links are not working.

For those unaware of pmsounds, it is software which interfaces with FSUIPC to introduce cockpit, engine and radio altitude callouts into the simulator. To be quite frank with you, a useful tool for certain applications.

The software which the user is entitled to (through purchasing) is listed under your username, but the download links all fail. I have raised a ticket with Project Magenta Support but all they are saying is that they are aware of this but cannot provide a timeframe for reinstatement of the links themselves.

I can see the funny to this that just as you need access to a tool you cannot download it, but I am left feeling a bit cheated by poor customer relations (no explanation on the website for the current status of things with regard to the download links). Furthermore, a request for a personal link for the required download has not been honoured by them. My recommendation is do not buy from Project Magenta at this present time since they will take your money but the website will deny you the right to download your software.

I spent a not inconsiderable sum on their full Boeing suite back in 2004. Despite a few attempts to contact them through their website to re-activate the software over the years, I never heard back from them. Your post just reminded me of their existence so I tried contacting them again through their online email and it just gave me this message "Illegal characters in POST. Possible email injection attempt" despite using my registered email.

The suspicion is that they may have hit business difficulties and may no longer be operating. That said, it is worrying that they may be quite happy to take your money and give back nothing in return.

Two years ago Enrico quickly responded to a question with “I am travelling”...

Kathy responded to my activation issues.

But like I wrote it is two years ago...

Just checked and also found that the downloads are not working (have been a customer since 1999).

But I noticed that the website (layout and colours) has changed since I last logged on a couple of weeks ago. Maybe we just need to wait for a couple of days for the downloads to work again.

Somehow I cannot imagine that Enrico would just shut everything down like that....

Just to report that all downloads for me are now working on the Project Magenta website, so a big thank you to Katy at Project Magenta for responding promptly to the ticket I submitted and ensuring that things are back in order again. Sounds like they have had some technical glitches with their new website which are hopefully all resolved.
