GEX Prepar3D World Edition Question

Hi guys. I have a question regarding settings in the sim with this.

I have Ground Environment Prepar3D World Edition, UTX USA and UTX Europe.

Are there any settings that i must pay attention to? Like overkill when the setting is too high? I read through both manuals and there is nothing mentioned about settings in P3D at all.

Just trying to find a nice balance without over taxing the system 🙂

Regards

Mike

GEP3D has better optimized textures then P3D default, meaning, if you already know your sim in default state, it will not get any worse with GEP3D.

So youre saying just leave P3D in default settings and all is well?

I assume youre talking about the terrain settings panel. Mesh resolution, texture resolution area?

Mike ( @Riah069),

I assumed you already use P3D (fly with it) and already set up your settings acc. to your HW. If this is the case, you don't have to worry about any settings related to GEP3D or UTX.

GEP3D replaces all the Land Class (terrain) textures with new ones that are also better optimized (it does not require any new setting by your side neither within P3D nor within GEP3D interface).

In UTX (which also comes with Lights) you have the possibility to make some changes (e.g. to show every single possible road etc) but leaving it to it's default settings is good enough.

UT Lights comes with simmilar settings to UTX. Again you can lit up any road or leave it default...

In short: none of the above products require any new setting within P3D.

The effects of GEX/UTX are mainly visual - as Greald said, if you like what you have you need to do nothing. Other than that, you can play with the settings and see how they affect visuals versus performance. It's your eyes and your system so make a change and fly for a while - repeat and test.

BUT - as said - if you have your sim in the state you like and you add GEX/UTX - you really need to do nothing.
