Since you installed a 3rd party audio package I suggest to check with their support. We do not know what changes are made with 3rd party programs.

Definitely something to ask them about.

This isn't developed by us, supported by us, or even encouraged by us. We spent a lot of time on the sound pack, and I think we'd all assert it's the best option out there. Biased? Yeah, sure...still...

So many of the sound packs out there are developed by guys sitting in the cabin. That's fine, but the flight deck isn't the cabin...

Actually, Immersive audios sound pack for the flight deck is more realistic if you ask me. The cockpit background sound, for example, in the NG is not very good compared to the real counterpart. IA did a really good job here.

Have you flown in a 737 cockpit?

Yes, several times. Also, my point was the "background" sound so the cooling fans and stuff in the cockpit - to evaluate this one you don't even need to fly. This one is way more realistic with their addon.

Sure, everyone can do what he wants with his money... but to be honest, I find this immersion soundset way too exaggerated. I‘ve just watched the first look video on YT by FSElite.

While every switch sounds great (in a silent cockpit) you‘ll not be able to hear a push button like the ones of the CDU as soon as all the air con fans are running. Yep, the air con sounds a bit more voluminous, this may be due to newer microphones or what ever, I find them better. But that‘s actually everything regarding the immersion. In a 737 cockpit (I wasn‘t that lucky to fly on it several times but I had the chance to fly with my cousin for one day, 4 flights) you hear the engines spool up for take off, you start rolling, the nose gear becomes louder and louder, you certainly can‘t hear the wipers anymore, you wouldn‘t even be able to talk without a headset. In the air and after the gear retraction rumble it is a bit quieter, you hear the engines behind you and somehow all around you (probably because of the narrow cockpit) and then, while accelerating towards 250kts the wind becomes absolutely dominant. No real engine sound anymore and - what destroys the sold so called „immersion“ - you certainly don‘t hear the gear lever being centered, the landing lights being switched off, the packs switches being pulled out, set, released. No, you can‘t hear that from the jump seat and very likely not from the captain‘s seat. You surely can hear that when you place a microphone close to them, but not in the sourrounding noise during flight. Nor can you hear any CDU or MCP buttons. You hear the trim, you would hear warning and caution sounds. But not not a single switch, button, knob. And that‘s mixed way better by PMDG.

But, sure, free market. If one‘s happy with paying for a sound that is actually not correct(er) than the delivered one by default...

You know that there are 2 products made by them? One for the engines and one for the flight deck so maybe you are mixing something up but idk. Also, a lot of the sounds depend on the audio settings in the CDU and P3D itself and I do not know what settings they used in their video.

Also, you can hear the CDU buttons or Pack switches 🙂 trust me I'm a "special" ramp agent ;).
