Well yes I knew that but ahem don't always pay attention to it...this was in Australia though...is that really the reason for the horn? I notice a tiny red marker now on the 300 kts point which is the trigger for the alarm. Be interested to find out if it's actually subtly reminding you to watch your speed at modest altitudes rather than warning of some impending overstress on the airframe. I was climbing at the time at 2000 fpm and the horn made me panic into levelling off the plane which actually increased the speed which I thought was not excessive for a climb. So...if it IS a warning over FAA rules (plane is American design after all) and not aircraft stress why not actually make it 250? Once you pass 300 you are somewhat too far gone! The exact reason could be shown with a panel warning, and if just a 'hint' you are being naughty surely you should be able to turn it off? Once again (finally) a plane is interesting enough to make me want to ask these questions and understand the design and logic more!) Russell Gough SE London
October 20, 20187 yr Author Had to ask for refund on the Grumman After the fantastic Lear things had to go downhill.... Grumman instant FSX crash no matter how you load it. MU2B60 very disappointed. Nearly gave up my first flight and quit FSX which is saying something, landed in dark and couldn't see any panel lighting to shut the plane down. Specifically 1) Cockpit lights don't work by default. An aircraft.cfg edit is required. Fixed that issue with fix on these forums. Cockpit light fix 2) All other lights are either on or off. All instrument and panel lights or none. In daylight the GTN750 is way too dark to read and use/program so turned on lights only for the whole panel and all switches to come blindingly alive. It's like driving with a headlight in your face, I can survive without dimmers but it needs separate switches like the Lear has. This one has the knobs all psychically linked together. ALL on or ALL off. 3) Plane would not start on battery, either serial or parallel. Followed videos and instructions to the letter. Clicked on GPU in option panel and then it WOULD start. Except today the GPU will not switch on or off. I can change my sunglasses and headphones thats it. 4) The sounds, or lack of them are a serious immersion killer. There seems to be only low bitrate engine and prop sounds for the plane. Seemingly only 6 sounds too (that's a guess don't quote me). There are a set of whines for props and condition levers to be on idle, different ones for cruise/flight plus only 1 short maybe 2-3 second sound for the transitions between the two. Doesnt matter how subtle you mean the levers at one point up you go to full cruise sound. Literally feels like a binary choice with an added transition to hide the issue. All sounds lack lower frequency ranges, no bass at all. Any aircraft starting up will generate low end sounds you can feel through your butt. Not here sadly, sounds like an R/C plane actually. Feel bad complaining about this devs planes after loving the Lear so much and appreciating the love you feel they have for their work. That plane got me excited again discovering a new dev I could give my money to. The Mitsubishi systems themselves (ignoring lights and sounds) are on par with the Lear. Coming from the PMDG J4100 with all its quirks and START LOCKS I found this simple to comprehend but annoying when things like the GPU is needed to start the plane and activating it is random. Made the mistake of frustratingly pressing Ctrl -E only to completely disable the plane. Start locks then were stuck in emergency off and could not be moved out, plus using panels to turn plane off didnt stop this. In short Ctrl E will trash your session with this bird! With better sounds and lights I would be persuaded to diagnose the other stuff myself because the plane felt right for a short distance short field hopper, perfect for those sweet Papua New Guinea strips in OrbX PAYA and TAP scenery, with a suitable livery. As it is, deleted the aircraft from my hanger, and asked for a refund for the Grumman. Not asking for refund for the MU2B60 as it DOES work, just at a much lower level to me than the practically flawless Lear (that plane should win an award - Best In Class FSX BizJet?) October 21, 20187 yr Author A foot note here. After posting my issue with the non-working Grumman above the dev found the fault and posted a fix. So it now works fine. Although too late for the sale I wanted to make clear I am very satisfied with 2/3 of the aircraft I purchased, which is a good ratio to me. The Grumman, looks and sounds good as well as having everything working. Does NOT use the GTN 750 but not a biggie as this is a SIDS and STARS kind of aircraft, instead perfect for those low flying scenic VFR trips....will certainly be taking it to Papua New Guinea AYPY scenery and TAP/EMO OrbX strips. Perfect cargo hauler for desolate spots as it can fly so low and slow. Edited October 22, 20187 yr by sloppysmusic grammar Russell Gough SE London
