GTN750 does not work (resolved)

Featured Replies

Hi,

After a crash of my laptop I did a system recovery and also put my x-planet 11 back on my disk from a backup.

When I started my x-plane I got a beta of x-plane 11 30b3.

When I chose my plane, I noticed that my gtn 750 appeared on the screen but I can not turn it on.

see mij screenshot

NZZlqN9.png

I have then downloaded and installed my GTN 750 but the same result

I also do not see any log files in my documents

What is the problem?

Hi,

I'd suggest you try "Reset window" in the menu in case it is out of bounds from a previous session.

Can you select "Check updates..." as well and ensure you do have the latest GTN installed?

my check updates says

2TnEaIr.png

By reset window it changes the place on the screen but the gtn 750 stays empty

Yesterday I downloaded the latest version from your website http://www.reality-xp.com/

So it installed the last version 2.5.7 and the last version of the trainer .

 in the manual i found

Log Files The solution monitors certain key operations and logs runtime data to specific files. When troubleshooting a problem, the first step is to analyze runtime data saved to the log files. The Plugin log file: "My Documents\rxpGTN.xpl.log".  The GTN Simulation log file: "My Document\rxpGtnSim.dll.log"

In my documents there are no log files.

I am now  on xplane11 30b4 beta  maybe this is the problem? In  the earlier update 30b3 beta there was no problem

the rxpGTN plugin is installed only the GTN is turn off the other GNS 430 is turn on

ximMmhs.png

in the settings is the power source ---> Avionic bus

In the topic GTN 750 is turn off is the issue  the same I think.

The you say

<<This is definitely something we haven't accounted for and we'll make sure to handle such situations properly in our next udpate. In the meantime, you might try to manually create the following subfolder:

"D:\GTN\nonvol"

Once this folder exists, our simulation should just use it as-is and won't fail in trying to 'create' it.>>

where can I see this folder.

The installation of rxp gtn has expired without errors:

download on c:/RealityXP

two files

rxp-gtn750-x9.lic

rxpgtn-xpl-setup.exe

the installation of trainer is on the c:/

I have the

C:\Program Files (x86)\Garmin\Trainers\Packages\GTN\data\nonvol

for me everything is installed correctly

whats is going wrong?

what amazed me is the fact that there are no log files in my documents

RCUqHU4.png

the problem is in all my planes.

Hi,

I'm glad all is working fine on your system now!

NB: "My Documents" is most likely "Documenten" in your screenshot. The log files are there (if any).

Yes I know

But no log files

When do you have those log files?

Anytime the plugin starts (i.e. when X-Plane loads), it shall create a rxpGTN.xpl.log file, and when you enable a device, a rxpGtnSim.dll.log file.

Otherwise, the user account running the simulator doesn't have the correct access rights to create a file in 'My Documents', or 'My Documents' being a special folder, has been redirected somewhere else in the user account profile.

JM,

, I understand that there is no access to the documents folder. I remind me at the installation that there were two errors related to writing to .. I clicked through and the installation went on. I have no problems using gth750.
Before my crash these log files were created. I then reset a system backup for recovery. This was the windows 1809. After the reset of xplane 11 on my d: drive the gtn 750 did not work anymore and I had to reinstall it.
In the meantime there was an update of windows 10 build 17763.134 and that might not allow rxp gtn750 to write to the documents folder.
How can I change these rights?

can win 10 be the cause?
Can this cause problems for further use of your software?

regards

jefken

Hi,

the "Documents" folder access rights default to being writable for the user, this is what it is meant for, and why we choose this folder to save our log files too.

There wouldn't be any foreseen issue not being able to write the log files at all, but this might be indication of more serious problems on your system.

I think there is a "repair" feature in Window which may be able to correct this sort of things.

i did a sfc / scannow to fix windows in case of issue (see my screenshot) and no problems were detected

moreover, I have written this screenshot to my folder documenten (my documents) and there is no problem at all.

So that is not the reason why the log files are not saved.

You make me wonder, have you tried a system-wide search for "rxpGtnSim.dll.log"?

I have done a search and no result

How can I try a system-wide search becauce with a normal search I can not search in windows files I think but I do't know how to make a system-wide search? (I thought that was an assignment for this? do you know that sometimes?)

my apology for this
