August 28, 200619 yr >Not really liking the artist rendition of Seattle. I've never>seen Alki Point (where that Seattle one would be taken if it>was real) with large ocean swells like that unless it was a>large wind storm. The artist was not drawing the distinct physics of the various perameters of the FS engine but what might be possible in the oceans (i.e WATER can see swells). What we now have and could have are night and day, I for one am very excited for the future of DX.. Best,Randy J. Smith Randy J Smith
August 29, 200619 yr Agree, It kind of looks like a tropical storm is hitting (as I write this tropical storm Ernesto is headed straight for me in Miami so the comment seems fitting). I hope the effects are locked to te wind speed cause most rivers and lakes don't have so much surf under normal conditions.Regards, Carlos
August 29, 200619 yr > i dont see any grass?ok the dev team has placed some shrubs to make the scene more > populated but other than that the ground has flat textures....Its not the point, if shrubs are possible grass should be too probably using a separate HLSL shader.

August 29, 200619 yr Commercial Member Is DX10 really going to be the visual holy grail we've all been waiting for? From the artist impressions, it would appear so. I hope the reality lives up to the hype. Intersting though, why would grass be anything to get excited about under DX10 ? It already exists in a number of DX9 based games.

It doesn't matter if it looks like PONG as long as the ATC tells you to use a STAR.In fact, it would be BETTER if it looked like Pong, because then I wouldn't haven't to spend MY ENTIRE LIFE SAVINGS on buying a new computer the size of the Sears Tower just to keep it from being a slideshow. Where am I supposed to put a computer that large? I bet the beancounters at MS never thought about THAT!
