What Monster of a Machine is That?

Featured Replies

Looks like its at saba, out there you can have all settings at full with little or no performance hit. It looks awesome with autogen at max.

>Looks like its at saba, out there you can have all settings>at full with little or no performance hit. It looks awesome>with autogen at max.Hi, Could you please clarify what "SABA" is all about or a link? For I really want to know! Surely it not the "Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates."

No, at Saba island...not a SABA computer. I'm sure it's just a very high end rig. Notice that not 'all' of those shots are from the demo.Edit: To clarify, shots 1-21 are from the demo, the rest are older shots. His notes say that he's using a 7800GT video card...no idea what the rest of his system looks like, or more importantly, how long it took the scenery to resolve to get the screenshot ;)

Saba is one of the islands off St Maarten.

It doesn't take a powerful machine to make it look like that for screenshots. It does, however, take a powerful machine to make it look like that and actually be flyable ( and enjoyable ).Notice there are no FPS counters in those screenshots. That guy was probably getting :)

By the way could any of those alienware gaming mechines capable of rendering that kinf of resolution with superb perfomance?

While you're there check out page 2 to see my shots, the name is chris627.;-)

Depends what you mean by "superb".I can tell you that my rig (3700+, 7800GT) can run with maxxed out autogen, full water, but no AI, and still pull 20-25 frames 90% of the time. Screens are very similar to those shots...all you have to do is wait for the blurries to "pop" and you're fine. :) And I expect with the autogen fixes that have been made, autogen will hit us less and less. My system runs it, not quite what I would call "superb", but then I am demanding...and probably the hardware we need to run FSX "superbly" is not out yet. Probably late-2007 hardware if I had to take a wild guess.Rhett

Absolutely gorgeous. Kudos to the cameraman.

There are some occasions where the terrain takes more time to settle down to a stable resolution, and some spots that just don't look right no matter what you do, but overall you can find the right spots to snap the screenshot if you look around. There are still a lot of variables we don't fully understand yet too, though...I've heard from some very disappointed people who just aren't seeing good visual quality, but have a good enough rig to run things just fine. Might be that there's just as many performance quirks in this version of FS as in the last.-Ivan

Nothing special try it it's fun all sliders to the right without any AI (all to the left)with that settings 24 fps :-) 4xAA and 8xAFGround textures are stunning with all stuff to the right lolSo please make an interface and seperate add-in only for the AI stuff and let it run on a dual core CPU that would be fun :-lolTo late I guess :( to close for release hehehe :-)Andr
