1920x1080 Monitor that runs at 30HZ-Does it exist?

Featured Replies

Hi, I want to run P3D V4 a 30Hz with v sync and fps locked at 30. I have seen many videos saying this trick removes micro stutters, however, all the monitors they use are 4K. I could probably fit a 4K monitor on my desk, but it would hurt my eyes being so close. Is there a monitor which is 1920x1080 with can run at 30HZ for flight swimming and I can change it to 60HZ when doing other things.

Thanks, Ollie.

Multiple HD tv’s are able to run at 30/25/24/23 hertz...

Till last week I used two 32” and ond 40” at 25 hertz.

At this moment I am replacing them for two 43” and one 55” which also ate going to run at around 25 hertz ( might be 23/24 )...

Not saying there isn't one but I have never came across a 1080P monitor that would run at 30hz.  I guess I'm kind of confused about fitting a 4K monitor on your desk and hurting your eyes.  What size are u thinking?  Many people run 40-55 inch 4K TV's and sit very close with no issues.  U can also go with a smaller 4K pc monitor.  Maybe Ray will stop in.  He uses a 32 inch 4K BenQ monitor with great success.  That would be a good size for a desk  and easier on the eyes then a bigger TV.

Depends on the TV.  U need to make sure it supports Chroma 4.4.4 or else your small text will look discolored or blurred.

I always thought sitting close to a large screen for a prolonged period of time damaged your eyes. The same as when you are a kid your parents tell you not to sit very close to the TV. I sit about 24 inches away from my monitor so hopefully, if I got one it wouldn't hurt my eyes.

If the TV doesn't work can you recommend a good 4K monitor under £500 or is that impossible for that price.

Thanks, Ollie.

If u are worried about eye strain I would stay 40 inches or under.  U first need to decide what size u want then explore what options are available.  My 28 inch Samsung 4K monitor was $400.  It is a very good monitor but honestly a little small for my taste.  My 43 inch Samsung 4K TV was $400 and they make the same model in a 40 inch version.  Rays 32 inch BenQ would be a good option but they are a little more pricey.

The "Samsung U28E590D 28-Inch LCD/LED Monitor - Black"  is £199 on Amazon, which sounds like a decent price. How do you tell if a monitor can downclock to 30Hz? So I can get smooth P3D. I get amazing fps with my GTX 1060 6GB but it's those pesky little stutters! Hopefully, 30Hz, 4K monitor with V sync will fix it 🙂

I was thinking about maybe getting the BenQ 32" 4K monitor.

I currently run a Gigabyte 1080Ti with 11gb DDR5 in to an HP32Q @ 60hz and 2560x1440 resolution, the image quality is excellent and I get excellent frame rates, even in some very demanding airport environments with lots of AI traffic and high settings in P3D.

Would my performance take a hit with a monitor like Ray's BenQ..??

With a 1080ti and going from 1440P to 4K I would think the performance hit would be minimal.  I had no issues running 4K with my single 1080ti.  Even my old 980 handled it quite well.  This was P3D only.  In Xplane for some reason I was getting far worse performance in 4K.

Would I need a GPU upgrade for 4K, maybe a GTX 1080 ti?

That is the exact monitor I have.  And yes it will run fine at 30hz.  U just have to create a custom resolution for it in the control panel.

Hey thanks for the info, I think I may just go for it. I found a great price on the BenQ Model EW370OU, sub $500, just barely but still pretty good for monitors in this class

A 1060 will run it but all depends on your graphics settings.  Good thing about for 4K on a 28 inch monitor is u can use very low AA.  I ran 4K with a GTX980 and it was fine.
