Loss of sound after engine shutdown

Christopher,

I have turned the ambient sound off in the PMDG options and set all sounds to my headset, then I turned the volume up a lot. So I only heard the engine but not the cockpit fans and all that. I cut off the engines and the sound became quieter, until at 1,8% N1 it faded out very fast. This sounds perfectly normal to me as in the cockpit you wont hear the engines anymore at all after shut down.

However I can't explain why the other cockpit sounds turn off on your system ****

Have you tried a repair using the installer? Do you have version 1.20.8885?

Do you have any 3rd party audio or video codec packs installed that don't come with windows? Have you installed any video players recently like VLC or so?

The Cockpit sounds don't continue for the 737 if P3D looses focus. Could there be anything popping up in the background or on a second screen like an error window that might make P3D loose focus?

**** EDIT: EXCEPT for one thing... at this 1.3 or 1.5% N1 the electric warning light came on. COULD there be an FSUIPC issue? like battery life... or a or corrupted panel state? When I turn off the battery with engines stopped, regardless if the APU is running, the sounds stop very aprupt.

Addendum........should I be hearing the sound of the APU after the engines have completely shut down?

This issue has been resolved. It seems that the APU sound continued to play after engine shutdown with version 1.10.xxxx in P3D v3.4......even when I did not click the two APU GEN switches (yeah, I know.......RTFM). This must have been corrected by version 1.20.xxxx (the latest version that I am using in P3D v4). It was those switches that I needed to click in order for the APU sound to stay on in P3D v4 (which is the sound I was referring to in my original post).
