How To See 'Average' Frame Rates Displayed

Featured Replies

In FS9 we could alter the FPS display to show an average FPS figure by adding the line "Ave_Frame_Rate_Display=1" to the MAIN section of the FS9.cfg file. I tried adding that line to the FSX.cfg file and it didn't work. Does anyone know what string can be added to the FSX.cfg file to show the average frame rates?TIA,DougDell XPS Gen3 (3.6GHz/800FSB) | 2GB DDR SDRAM | 74GB SATA, 10k RPM (C: ) | 120GB SATA (D: ) | 256MB ATI Radeon X800 XT (Catalyst 6.5) | Audigy 2 ZS Sound | MS Force Feedback 2 | WindowsXP Pro (SP2) | DirectX 9.0c

Press Shift+Z twice. The first press brings lots of stuff I don't understand, the second time brings up the framerate.Chris

Chris, that shows the instantaneous framerate, not the average.Gary

Now, how can I get the "Variance" back? To me, that is more significant than Low-Avg-High reporting......or is that indeed part of the above? Rhetorical question I suppose, since I can simply go look for myself... *:-* IOW, I aim to optimize both model and gauge code to keep the Variance at or below 5%... ;)
