P3d v4.3 kjfk 04L smash into ground

Featured Replies

I was about 100 feet above the runway landing at KJFK on 04L and all of a sudden my plane teleported onto the runway and smashing into it. My plane went from flying to on the runway. This is the second time this has happened landing at KJFK. Only scenery addon I have is orbx global.

Yeah 4L JFK is like 28L at SFO. Meaning because the runway is near the waters edge it glitches out and smacks ya down (P3D glitch). What I do is to fly the approach a little high on the GS and USUALLY there's no problem.

Is there anyway to fix this?

Nah, not that I know off. Somebody might have a solution, but I do not, sorry. I'm pretty sure that this is a really old FSX bug.

Isn't this issue known to be happening when using specific aircraft? I believe the PMDG 777 was one of them

As Felix has stated, the work around is to set the mesh resolution to 5 metres. To be honest, I have mine set to 2 metres at the moment in P3Dv4.5HF2, and so far I have not encountered the problem in my PMDG 777F.
