No warning audio

Featured Replies

I'm flying the -8 from EGSS to KATL.

P3D 4.4

Almost to KATL and I had several warnings that were caused by me.

Autopilot disconnect, and then altitude alert.  Neither one is giving a sound.

I'm getting engine auto inside and out of the cockpit.

Thanks

Check your sound settings in windows and P3D.

Checked with Windows and all ok.

Yes, loaded from PFPX.

Define "okay." If it were okay, the sounds would be playing. In other words, what are the options, and what do you currently have set.

Probably an issue with the file the program provided. Try without the file.

Right click on the speaker icon and then Open Volume Settings. What does it show for you under "choose your output device"?

Now check it in the P3D Sound settings.

I just shut down the sim.

I started this flight and got the altitude alert when it reached TOC.

Then I went out shopping.

Came back and no ALT alert sound, no A/P disconnect sound.

Only engines.

No one was here to touch it.

If the behavior changed, then it isn't the plane. Perhaps a sim sound bug, or a power save mode on a USB headset, or something changed with the sound engine. Try hitting Q twice next time.

Troubleshooting is a bit like playing chess in the dark. I'm only able to help you by whatever information you provide. If you give more of it, anyone who browses here will be better able to help you.

The limited information, along with the earlier "it's okay" stance really doesn't help anyone get you to a solution.

I don't even own a headset.

The first thing I tried was Q.

I lost the altitude alert sound, I had it when I started the flight and went to TOC.

I disconnected the A/P and got the wailer, but not when I got home.

I'll have to deal with it.

Thanks for you help.

The P3Ds sound engine is utterly retarded for me.

I use an AV receiver, so my sound is via HDMI bitstream, but the Realtek HD audio driver is also activated by me. The problem is that P3D is set to default device and that's apparently a no go for the engine. Try setting your audio device in P3D instead of <default device>.

I know at least in the truck, with my laptop connected to my TV, when I load the plane in the simulator, all I hear is the engines. I go into the FMC and it shows the TV as my sound source. I end up having to change it to the laptop, then back to the TV in order to get the rest of the sounds. Though I find it unusual in your case that this happens mid-flight.

It had never happened before and this was the first extra long flight I had made.  I mean it was supposed to be eight hours, EGSS to KATL, AirCargoLogic Air.  I went out to do some shopping long before I got to TOD and I had no cockpit sounds, and the FMC was all messed.  Not one thing changed as no one was here to touch it.

And Kevin, your truck?  You use P3D in a truck with a laptop?  Are you a truck driver?  I know one in the UK, he's a great guy.
