February 1, 20197 yr I've noticed that there is quite a large lag between the input and what is reflected in the VC and what actually happens. For instance, if I turn my steering tiller to max (using my joystick mapped to the tiller in FSUIPC), it takes about 4-5 seconds before the actual tiller in the Virtual Cockpit has turned to match my input, and it takes equally long for the actual aircraft to start turning. The same is noticeable with the other axis (eg. if I push right forward on the yoke, it takes a while for the yoke in the VC to catch up with the input). February 1, 20197 yr I've never seen such a noticeable lag, or even a slight lag. i don't pay much attention to the yoke but the controls move exactly when I move them. Dan Downs KCRP
February 2, 20197 yr The controls have some heft! I notice it takes a little less than 2 seconds for controls to be deflected from center to full travel. I would consider that normal and appropriate for this type of aircraft and control system. But just to confirm your issue... are you saying that the tiller only BEGINS to move 4 seconds after you command a turn? or that it finally STOPS moving 4 seconds after your commanded turn (i.e. it has reached the desired position)? It's my understanding that the internal FS sensitivity slider only adds a delay to control inputs.. you might want to check that these sliders are fully deflected to the right (no delay). In FSX they can be found under SETTINGS > CONTROLS > CALIBRATION. In FSX make sure to check ADVANCED CONTROLS to check each axis individually. Robert Toten Edited February 2, 20197 yr by randomTOTEN
February 2, 20197 yr for the tiller this is normal. I don't know if the tiller in the real airplane can be slammed around but the hydraulic takes its time. And at least in the sim the tiller is connected to the nose wheel angle. regarding the other axes, do you have Kaspersky or any other real time anti virus software? Kaspersky made my sim totally unusable a couple of years ago and it slows my mother's laptop down as well.. (she has a video creater program and it's sooooo slow due to Kaspersky checking EVERYTHING she does). this might be interesting for you: https://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=47744 ,
February 2, 20197 yr Author I've done some further observing. The tiller lag seems speed sensitive, so maybe it is trying to simulate friction forces. The yoke seems normal on the Aileron axis, but has lots of lag in the Elevator axis. I have checked other aircraft (default Cub, A2A Comanche, MaddogX) and they have no problems so I don't think it is a system issue. Maybe they are trying to simulate the force needed to move the real yoke in flight (quite a few pounds I should imagine).
February 2, 20197 yr Yeah that's how I interpret it. It doesn't impact my ability to control the aircraft, and I prefer some smoothness to "twitchy" controls which have no heft and immediately react to my stick. Robert Toten
