Often missed is the backside of the peaks on the way to Monument Valley, Lake Powell, and the East Entrance to the Grand Canyon. It is also the route to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon and an easy way to get to Bryce and Zion national parks in Utah, just an overnight drive from Phoenix where I live. John
