Wow! Only had 30mins to play with it and FSX demo is great!I love the following:-* Satellite scenery around Juliana* Dynamic traffic* Missions - Just great especially the jet landing * Water effects* New view options (S and A key)* Mouse look and zoom - Nice!* High FPS - no problem mainting 30fps at Juliana (but with low autogen)* New look UI* Right click menu with no pausing* More high res options in display menu, 1m mesh, 7cm textures!Probably lots more... but i need to go out for 8 hrs so cant play anymore :(I hope the following can be fixed for release:-* Autogen performance* No cloud shadows :( please add this please, even if it only works with DX10* Landing lights still look too washed out, like in FS9Thanks ACES... the FSX demo is great! Love it :-beerchug

<>Why only 30 minutes? Just start it again...

I have to agree...The demo is just great and I am getting a pretty constant 20FPS at about 70% settings across the board...The scenery at those settings is great and the flyability is excellent. The sound is also superb.FYI, my machine specs are below.Only problem I have at the moment is that I cannot release the brakes on any wheeled aircraft, no matter what I try. I have removed and reconfigured the appropriate key assignments as well as re-calibrated my Pro Pedals USB a couple of times. I get the "BRAKES" message constantly at the bottom left corner of the screen regardless of what I do to disengage the brakes... Can someone please suggest something...Cheers and thanks to Microsoft, this sim is going to be a classic, the potential is huge.Chris Porter:-outtaPerthWestern AustraliaMy PC Specs...Intel Pentium IV 3.0GHz (800FSB) Socket 478 pins CPU w/Hyper-Thread Technology MSI 875P NEO FIS2R, AGP 8X, i875P ICH5R Chipset with Gigiabit Lan1 Gb PC3200 Double Data Rate (DDR) RAM CAS-2.5- 400MHz Rated x 2BUILT By ATI (Original) Radeon 9800PRO w/TV Out & DVI 128Meg DDRTEAC DV-W50E, 4x DVD-R/ 2x RW, 16xCD-R, 8xCD-RW, 16xDVD, 32x CD-ROM Internal Drive Only Western Digital Raptor 36.0GB HDD IDE, 8MB Cache, 5.2ms, 10,000rpm , S-ATA, w/DataLifeguard for OSWD 40Gig HD for DataWD 200Gb HD for MSFSATX 470W Pentium IV Power Supply CEHercules Game Theater XP, 6.1 speakers Dolby

I think you need to reverse the toe brakes in your controller calibration screen. I seem to remember reading that for some reason the toe brakes are reversed so when you're NOT applying any brakes they're at full.

...that would explain me trying to take off in the CRJ7, full throttle, getting 70 kts. :) Thanks for the controller tip!

>I thought it was ok...but i HATE the pan in spot view...can't>go diagonal! :(EDIT: I originally said that you can go diagonally, but then I realized that you indeed can't - I'm not sure if I imagined the diagonal motion or what, but you're right.. Can't use the hatswitch to move up+left at the same time, for example. That's weird :( I'm pretty sure it'll be fixed before retail though. The rest of my message stays the same:The view system in FSX has been reworked: instead of having just 2D panel, 3D panel, spot and tower, you now have view categories:CockpitOutsideTowerRunwayAircraftYou can access these, for example, by right-clicking within the simulation window (3D view). The Cockpit category contains the 2D panel view, VC view and other pre-set views from within the aircraft. I imagine plane developers can freely add views to their aircraft, for example "Jump seat", "Left side passenger", "Right side passenger", etc.The Outside category contains Spot (which is an outside view centered on your plane that reacts to your plane's movement), Locked spot (which is your basic Spot view from FS9), FlyBy (what it says) and Top down (the same you could access with CTRL+S in FS9).Tower is simple enough to understand - it lists the closest airports and allows you to get a view of your plane from their tower location.Runway is new and interesting: when you select a runway from it, you don't get a view FROM the runway, but TOWARDS the runway. You'll be sitting in the virtual cockpit with your view always facing towards the runway you selected - this makes circling approaches to runways pretty easy even if you don't have TrackIR.Aircraft is new as well, and when you initially go to what you think is the "Spot" view and "can't pan", you're actually in one of these views. The choices are Tail, Right wing and Left wing - meaning the location of the camera from where you can look around by using the hatswitch on your yoke or by invoking mouse look by holding down the space bar.
