March 5, 20197 yr Hi I am going to be upgrading from my GTX 1060 6GB to either an RTX 2060 or 2070. I originally was going to just go for 2060, however, I am noticing I am hitting that 6GB buffer already in some areas and getting large stutters and freezes when I do so. So for roughly £100 I could get the RTX 2070 8GB VRAM, which would increase my performance greatly. I know that the Fps:Price ratio is best for the 2060, but the 6GB buffer is worrying me. I have an i5 8600K, so I have a mid/high range CPU. Also, I have 16GB RAM. So do I go for the 2060 or 2070? Thanks, Ollie i5 8600K @4.5Ghz 16GB RAM GTX1060
March 5, 20197 yr What resolution are you running at? Gigabyte x670 Aorus Elite AX MB; AMD 7800X3D CPU; Deepcool LT520 AIO Cooler; 64 Gb G.Skill Trident Z5 NEO DDR5 6000; Win11 Pro; P3D V5.4; 1 Samsung 990 2Tb NVMe SSD: 1 Crucial 4Tb MX500 SATA SSD; 1 Samsung 860 1Tb SSD; Gigabyte Aorus Extreme 1080ti 11Gb VRAM; Toshiba 43" LED TV @ 4k; Honeycomb Bravo.
March 5, 20197 yr My vote: 2070. You are going to regret getting the 2060 and the price difference will soon be forgotten.. Bert
March 5, 20197 yr Sorry to hijack the thread but im also going to replace my 1060 within the next year. I run a 40” in 4K so I’ll need a higher end card. Any suggestions? Would I be better off waiting for the next series released or go for a used 1080ti? 5800x3d Asus 4090 ROG Strix OC 2TB SSD 32GB Ram
